The Challenge: Ride or Dies looks to be yet another season of the show in which the contestants let the personal insults fly. Would it be The Challenge if they didn't? And they’ll cut deep because of how close these competitors are with each other.

There have been plenty of unforgivable things said over the years on The Challenge. However, Reddit reminisces on past arguments and comments that were below the belt but still managed to give enough entertainment as an audience member that challengers who said them are almost entirely forgiven.

CT Didn’t Burn $70 Million

On the first season of The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars, ex-NFL player Terrell Owens and CT got into a heated argument. After weeks of the Champs team dominating the competition, CT addressed how he felt T.O. truly didn’t want to be on the show.

CT finally says that it’s not his fault T.O. was desperate for a paycheck. Redditor Envified_ commented, “‘I didn't burn 70 million dollars!’ lives rent-free in my mind” citing CT's unforgettable put-down. Bringing up finances is a low blow, but seeing T.O. quit the show after this comment was pretty entertaining.

Don’t Ask Josh To Do Math

Devin and Josh on The Challenge

One night on Double Agents, Josh seemed to have a problem with anyone in sight, and his anger was only fueled when Devin further antagonized him. Devin and Josh’s argument is one that was repeatedly brought up by Redditors after one Redditor wrote, “Devin asking Josh what 8x9 is.”

This was such a ridiculous insult that it sticks out to fans anyway, but it certainly doesn’t hurt that fans may love this fight even more because they dislike Josh to the he's one The Challenge contestant fans hope never to see again.

Even Amanda Has Feelings

Amanda Garcia in a confessional on The Challenge

Amanda may be one of The Challenge’s best villains, but she’s still human, and being called ugly hurts. One thing Redditors couldn’t get over with this comment was how weak it was compared to other insults given; Amanda was repeatedly called Satan and she’s embraced it.

Hailstormwalshy says Camila calling Amanda an “‘ugly freckle faced b----’ was super weak, but you could tell it hurt.” The way the weak insult landed is what made it a point of discussion because it shows that when something hits an insecurity, it hurts no matter how weak.

Nicole Or Andy

Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio on The Challenge Smiling

One thing that could nearly unanimously be agreed upon by Redditors was the effort Johnny Bananas puts into his jokes that makes them difficult to enjoy, especially when he reuses insults. One that was especially felt liked a forced low blow was that Nicole looked like actor Andy Dick.

UnculturedSwine522 commented, “Was it funny? Sure. But it was funnier on twitter than the 3+ times he said it that season ya know. Like he was waiting for it to really land.” This led Redditors to bring up the side-by-side comparison editors put into the show, reinforcing this as an insult.

His Ex Has Short Hair

Jenna Compono in a Challenge confessional

Jenna’s argument with her cousin, Brianna, is the gift that keeps giving, making it possibly one of the most iconic fights in the series. Mostly, this fight shows how even angry Jenna isn’t too mean, but her comments still hurt the person they’re intended to.

Of the many personal anecdotes that Jenna threw at her cousin in this argument, one insult that R0nd9 couldn’t help but mention was, “Her boyfriend is only with her because his ex has short hair.” According to Jenna’s internalization of beauty standards, this is a major insult from her.

Big Brother Sucks

Devin Walker Spies, Lies & Allies

While Devin said plenty of iconic things throughout his Double Agents argument that Redditors loved to reference, the comment made that really set Josh off was about his original show, Big Brother. Redditors couldn’t help but find the humor in such a little comment setting Josh off.

Veltvet_rabbit writes their favorite insult from the Devin and Josh argument being “Devin telling Josh that BB sucks.” For them, it wasn’t about whether Josh wanted to borrow Devin’s sweatsuit or if Josh knew how to do mental math. It was about the simplicity of Big Brother sucking.

Her Dad Owns A Bakery

Jenna and Brianna on The Challenge

Jenna is a competitor who still hasn’t won a season, but deserves to for her ability in the competition and the entertainment she provides the audience. Bloodlines captured one of Jenna’s more iconic arguments, and the references didn’t stop coming up on Reddit.

Mookzomb loves this insult by Jenna because it involves “some random personal s**t like, ‘You think you’re so much better than everyone ‘cause you work at your dad's bakery! Oh wow, your dad owns a bakery!’” The randomness of this bakery comment being thrown into an argument is truly what sets this insult over the edge.

Zach Has $2

Ashley Mitchell on The Challenge

Ashley deserves more respect in the game than she gets, but one thing she seems to always be credited for is the drama and entertainment she brings to any season she’s on. While it may be difficult for some to choose a single insult from Ashley as their favorite, one Redditor found it easy.

For Coucher888, there’s one Ashley insult that stands above the rest, and it’s when Zach wanted to bet all his money in the bank “and Ashley immediately clapped back, ‘yeah….all two dollars!!’” Ashley is always quick with a comeback and this one didn’t disappoint.

He’s Still Here?

Jenna on The Challenge

Invasion of the Champions had strong alliances which created a lot of tension between competitors. Before Theo quit during his elimination against Cory, his only season on The Challenge saw him have a slight conflict with Jenna.

One Redditor mentions one of Jenna’s more underrated moments when Theo says he’s going to vote Jenna into elimination. Lucyroesslers says, “Jenna just kind of blank looks at him and goes: ‘We already forgot you were here like 3 times.’ Such a subtle but dismissive burn, I loved it.” While Jenna’s insults may not be the meanest, they’re effective.

Pets Were Brought Into It

Amanda and Cara Maria on The Challenge

Redditors agreed bringing pets and family into arguments are inherently low blows, but when Amanda brings Cara Maria’s horse into the argument the humor of the edit makes it impossible not to laugh at.

Meanbutgooddentist writes even if they were a fan of Cara, “I still would have found, ‘I hope your horse dies’ followed by a horse neighing sound effect to be hilarious.” It’s a comment that appears to come out of left field in the argument, but the way editors used a horse neigh entirely shifts the weight of that insult.
