The battle among fans regarding whether Dr. Hannah Asher and Dr. Dean Archer should be a couple or remain friends in Dominic Rains' Dr. Crockett Marcel has exited Chicago Med, while season 10 will introduce two new doctors. Additionally, love is still in the air at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, but not for Hannah and Dean.

Chicago Med season 10 will contain 22 episodes and premiere on Wednesday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET, on NBC, with the season premieres of Chicago Fire and Chicago PD coming afterward.

Jessy Schram as Hannah and the Chicago Med cast in season 7. Their two characters became friends, and before anyone knew it, Hannah and Dean were seemingly the closest pair at Gaffney. Hannah and Dean have chemistry (whether platonic or romantic) that no one can deny. As a result, there have been many discussions concerning what the future holds for their relationship. I, for one, am content with Hannah and Dean staying friends in Chicago Med for the foreseeable future.

Jessy Schram Says That A Hannah & Dean Romance Isn't Likely In Season 10

Hannah & Dean's Possible Romance Isn't A Priority

During an interview with the Chicago Med season 10 premiere, Jessy Schram was asked about the possibility of a romance between Hannah and Dean. While she couldn't completely nix the idea of Hannah and Dean becoming a couple, the actress also couldn't confirm it. Schram said:

"The reality is that, while they're both working at the hospital, there's nothing that's ever completely off the table. I absolutely love the Archer/Asher relationship. I adore working with Steven Weber. I think we have something really fun and really interesting within the characters really relating to each other in their struggles of being broken individuals, and I think that they have a really cool dynamic, and I wonder if they were to ever make that romantic, if it would shift the dynamic in a way that we would actually desire more or less of. I think, right now, that's not where the focus is — at least from what I know. For right now, I love where they're at and just want to see more of their platonic love relationship. But to be honest, it can go anywhere at any time, and I'm here for the ride."

Chicago Med Season 10's Natalie Manning Replacement Highlights How Important She Was To Gaffney

Three seasons after Torrey DeVitto exited Chicago Med, the NBC medical drama series has finally found someone to replace Dr. Natalie Manning.

When Chicago Med season 10 opens, viewers shouldn't expect to see Hannah and Dean taking their relationship to the next level. According to Schram, a romance between them isn't their or the show's priority. However, Hannah and Dean's friendship will continue, which I believe is for the best, despite how disappointed some may be to wait even longer to (potentially) see them develop feelings for one another.

Why Hannah & Dean Are Better Off As Friends (For Now)

Hannah & Dean Have Other Love Interests In Chicago Med

Hannah and Dean understand one another on a level that most Chicago Med characters don't. However, that doesn't mean that they should date (yet). Yes, they have chemistry, but neither Hannah nor Dean has expressed romantic interest in one another. They also currently have other love interests (Dr. Mitch Ripley for Hannah and Dr. Margo Collins for Dean) in the NBC medical drama series.

If the [Chicago Med] writers want to build something romantic between Hannah and Dean, they can't throw them in the deep end right away.

Perhaps as time goes on, the writers could start being more deliberate with teasing a romance between Hannah and Dean in the One Chicago TV show. Of course, that's only if they intend to push them together. If the writers want to build something romantic between Hannah and Dean, they can't throw them in the deep end right away. For that reason and the fact that they have other love interests to deal with, it makes sense why Hannah and Dean's relationship isn't the focus of Chicago Med season 10.
