Warning: SPOILERS for Chicago Med season 10, episode 22, "...Don't You Cry."

There are so many earth-shattering reveals in the Chicago Med season 10, even if it might sometimes feel hard to believe they happened as closely together as they did.

And with all three One Chicago shows renewed for another season, it’s confirmed that any big reveals from this season will be addressed in the next one. Hannah Asher has big decisions to make about her baby, Sharon Goodwin needs to make dramatic changes to her personal and professional lives, and Charles needs to revisit his concept of what it means to be a father. But with all of these shoes dropping at once, it’s helpful to take them one at a time when processing what happened in that finale.

Goodwin Confronts Her Attacker In The Chicago Med Finale

It’s Unclear Whether She’ll Be Up For Parole

S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin in Chicago Med

In case there was any doubt regarding how Chicago Med became NBC’s top-rated drama, the season 10 finale opens with Goodwin speaking on a jail phone with her attacker. Earlier in Chicago Med season 10, Goodwin nearly lost her life when she was stalked and subsequently stabbed by a lost patient’s widow. That storyline mostly disappeared into the ether once Goodwin’s survival was ensured; nonetheless, it makes an unexpected return in the finale so Goodwin can speak with her attempted murderer face to face.

Sharon's Most Powerful Chicago Med Season 10 Story Had A Cop Out Ending

Chicago Med season 10, episode 20 set up a strong story for Sharon, only to rush to a conclusion and waste all of the carefully built-up potential.

As one might predict, things don’t go well for the stab-happy convict in question. She tells Goodwin she’s on new medication and has converted to Christianity, but neither of these details are enough to warrant Goodwin’s absolution. Goodwin ultimately tells the would-be killer to pray for herself instead of asking forgiveness, and she walks away, saying she’ll be fine regardless of her new scars and the memories she can’t erase. It’s not clear why her stalker was brought back for the finale at all, but it seems Sharon has moved on either way.

Hannah’s Pregnancy Mystery Explained

She Seems To Have Confirmed The Father

There hasn’t been any shortage of romance issues in Chicago Med season 10. From Caitlin Lenox’s first Chicago Med romance to the finale’s issues between Goodwin and Washington, love lives have been torn apart. Nonetheless, one of the greatest mysteries introduced ahead of the season 10 finale was the father of Hannah Asher’s baby. She never goes out of her way to name a primary candidate. But when she shows up at Archer’s house saying they need to talk, it feels like an answer to the question.

Sharon's Chicago Med Season 10, Episode 19 Romance Issue Is A Disservice To Her Character Arc

Chicago Med season 10, episode 19 gave Sharon a meaty romantic story, but her conflict with Dennis also did a disservice to her character arc.

However, the mystery technically hasn’t been solved. Early in the episode, Asher seems to be feeling Ripley out to see whether he’d accept the concept of having kids. It’s only after she is less than enthused by his answer, and then goes to see Dean. To be fair, the timeline for Asher’s pregnancy seems to line up with the episode in which she goes to Archer’s for dinner, so it wouldn’t be shocking if he were the father. Viewers may have to wait for Chicago Med season 11 to get a real answer.

Why Dr. Washington Officially Leaves Gaffney

He And Goodwin Couldn’t See Eye To Eye

John Earl Jelks as Dennis Washington in Chicago Med

Saving the nurses didn’t keep the board from forcing Sharon to make staff cuts, especially after they lost money by suspending Hayes. However, one of the first people they ask her to fire is her boyfriend, Dennis Washington. Sharon tries to keep Dennis at the hospital by offering him a pay cut with a higher annual bonus, but he chastises her for not taking a pay cut herself or accepting a demotion to keep him on staff. He eventually hands in his letter of resignation, after which Goodwin breaks off their romantic entanglement.

It's been some time coming. Goodwin was extremely displeased when she learned Dennis was keeping their relationship a secret from his daughter. The Chicago Med season 10 finale reveals she later moved out despite her initial willingness to work on their future together. Washington’s resignation is more about the lack of respect he feels as a colleague than as a lover, but the two had trouble keeping those tracks separate. Once the finale ends with Sharon meeting up with her ex-husband Bert, it seems she was never that emotionally invested in new relationships in the first place.

What Happens To Dr. Charles’ Daughter (& What It Means For Their Future)

He Needs To Be More Of A Dad Than A Therapist

Hannah Riley as Anna Charles in the Chicago Med season 10 finale

Anna Charles revealed right before the Chicago Med season 10 finale she dropped out of Stanford and moved back to Chicago, but she never explained why. The finale reveals the answer when it turns out that Anna lives with clinical depression that runs in the family and took the life of Dr. Charles’ father. She didn’t wrap her car around a tree because she felt bad about dropping out. Rather, she dropped out because she already felt so bad that it made her feel abnormal.

Charles Exposes The 1 Thing That Frost Needs To Do To Move On From Ainsley In Chicago Med Season 10

Frost and Ainsley’s story on Chicago Med might seem to be over, but Charles hints at one last thing that needs to happen before season 10 concludes.

The saddest part is that she couldn’t bring herself to tell her father she was unhappy. Charles has an unfortunate habit of playing shrink with his kids, but Daniel promises Anna that he’ll listen instead of talk when she wants to discuss her depression in the future. It’s somewhat unfortunate that he can’t find another way to turn off the shrink and bring the dad to the forefront, but he’s doing his best. But now that Anna’s local, Charles may have to put his money where his mouth is if she pops up again in Chicago Med season 11.

What To Expect From Chicago Med Season 11

Some Personal Relationships May Not Last Long

S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin in Chicago Med

Regardless of whether he’s truly the father, Asher and Archer’s relationship on Chicago Med will likely get more of a focus moving forward. It’s not known for sure if the two have ever been physical partners, but Dean Archer is typically the person Hannah goes to when she’s struggling with something significant. After her sister’s negative reception to the pregnancy, Asher needs a shoulder to cry. Since it seems like Archer has feelings for her, any extended between the two could lead to something more during a moment of uncertainty like this.

Why Did Noah Sexton Leave Chicago Med? Roland Buck III's Exit From One Chicago Explained

April’s brother, Noah Sexton, left Chicago Med during season 6, but Roland Buck III reprised his role in a later episode of the NBC medical drama.

As for the rest of Gaffney, changes are in the air. Sharon Goodwin will have to keep fighting for her team’s respect after losing two doctors on the heels of a nearly devastating nurses’ strike, and Ripley still seems at odds with himself about what his relationship with Lynne and her child looks like right now. Chicago Med season 11 will also have to address Caitlin’s test results, and there’s a strong chance that Kip will learn she lied to him about them being negative. It all makes for a rather grimly exciting (and likely tear-jerking) season at Gaffney.
