The season 11, some of them experienced near-death experiences. At the end of the year, it was the rest of the squad's turn to save their leader, who was abducted in the penultimate episode. Ultimately, Voight came out of it with no permanent injury, although he could still have died.
Intelligence's final Chicago PD season 11 case wrapped up its most grueling mystery in a while. It involved a nifty and elusive serial killer, who ended up killing a runaway teenager, Noah, who Voight got particularly close with. This effectively set up the return of classic Voight in Chicago PD season 11. Successfully taking down the suspect wasn't easy, however, as it involved the Intelligence leader almost getting killed himself. Luckily, he got some help from an unexpected ally — one who knew how to effectively motivate him to keep on fighting and not die.

Voight’s Chicago PD Season 11 Finale Fate Sets Up Antonio Dawson’s Return
Hank Voight is in serious danger in the Chicago PD season 11 finale and it paves the way for Jon Seda to finally return as Antonio Dawson.
Voight Hallucinated Alvin Olinsky In The Chicago PD Season 11 Finale
Elias Koteas Returned As Olinsky To Save Voight.
After Frank Matson successfully abducted Voight by drugging him, the perpetrator proceeded to start his kill ritual in the Chicago Fire season 11 finale, "More." It involved stabbing him twice to kill him slowly to the point that he desperately gives up and makes his one final phone call. Voight held out, however, refusing to call Hailey Upton. He was prepared to die at that point, but his late best friend and former partner Alvin Olinsky appeared before him while he was hallucinating. Elias Koteas reprised his One Chicago role so brilliantly that it's almost like he didn't leave.
Voight, on the other hand, was convinced that he was dead, insisting that he was ready to go, especially after everything he had gone through.
Olinsky's cameo was brief in the Chicago PD season 11 finale. The beanie-wearing, soft-spoken late cop asked the Intelligence leader what kind of trouble he got himself into this time. Voight, on the other hand, was convinced that he was dead, insisting that he was ready to go, especially after everything he had gone through. Unfortunately for him, Olinsky wouldn't let him, saying that he just couldn't die yet, primarily because he still had to make sure that Upton got out of Matson's grip safely. Olinsky then disappeared, but it gave Voight the motivation he needed to survive.
What Happened To Olinsky In Chicago PD?
Voight Continues To Feel Guilty Over Olinsky's Death.
One Chicago is used to harrowing cast departures, which made sense, considering the nature of their jobs. That said, Olinsky's exit remains one of the most heartbreaking losses, primarily because of the way he was written out. After Voight killed the person behind his son's murder in Chicago PD, Olinsky took the fall for it and went to prison. Unfortunately, before Intelligence could come up with a way to get him out, he was fatally stabbed by someone who had a vendetta against Voight. It had been years since this happened, but Olinsky's death continues to haunt Voight.
The Chicago PD season 11 finale is available to stream on Peacock.
