A fan has put together a cleverly made video that perfectly casts Deus Ex's JC Denton. Both Deus Ex and Denton have sat on the sidelines for far too many years. The beloved immersive sim first debuted over two decades ago in 2000, with UNATCO Agent JC Denton in the central role. Denton returned for the title's sequel, Invisible War, but appeared as a ing character instead of the lead.
Nearly a decade later, the franchise burst onto the scene once more with yet another main character - Adam Jensen. A prequel to the original entries, 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution is highly regarded for its story and gameplay, especially the immersive sim-inspired qualities that allow players to tackle objectives from nearly any angle. The series' most recent outing, Mankind Divided, launched in 2016, and fans can only hope that one day developer Eidos Montréal is able to complete its planned Jensen-led trilogy. Who knows, since Cyberpunk 2077, maybe those hopes will eventually come to fruition?
Twitter KinoFabiano has brought JC Denton back to the forefront, thanks to an awesome video wherein Christian Bale stars as the Deus Ex's former leading man. The video uses a scene from American Psycho, wherein Bale's character intently walks through an office building wearing headphones. Here, however, he's walking through a pixelated scene in Ion Storm's original Deus Ex, with music from its classic OST playing in the background. When Bale's character enters an office in the final few seconds, it's JC Denton who stops in front of a desk.
This, of course, is not the first time that Christian Bale has been fan cast as a beloved video game character. Months before Sony Pictures officially cast Oscar Isaac as the Bale as Liquid Snake. Whether or not Bale will eventually be brought aboard the project, too, remains to be seen.
There have been talks in the past of a Deus Ex movie, though nothing concrete has ever come to fruition. Keanu Reeves is usually the fan-favorite choice to star in such a project as either JC Denton or Adam Jensen. The above video seems to suggest that Christian Bale could quickly become the new favorite pick, however.
