Saoirse Ronan addresses the rumor of her being on Netflix's the famous C.S. Lewis book series. With the network tapping Greta Gerwig to write at least two movies for the reboot, the director's frequent collaborator, Saoirse Ronan, is rumored to star in those films.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ronan, who is the lead in both Gerwig's Lady Bird and Little Women, talked about her relationship with the director, teasing the possibility of her being in the The Chronicles of Narnia films. "I mean, there isn't, like, no truth to it," the actor said about the rumor. While Gerwig "hasn't asked" Ronan to be them in yet, the actor revealed that they have the kind of close relationship where she can go to Gerwig and ask for a role. On the other hand, Gerwig is currently "so wrapped up in writing it [the script for Narnia] right now." Watch the video for the interview, below:

The Actor Gives Fans A Soft Update
Since Netflix's announcement of the reboot, there has been very little updates aside from Greta Gerwig being the one to helm the film. Ronan's update confirms that Gerwig is currently working on the script, which does suggest progress is being made. Though it's not a done deal yet, it seems that it's up to the pair to determine whether Ronan will be in the film.
Gerwig and Ronan's friendship goes back to when they met at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. The two have worked on several films, and when Gerwig went into film directing, she cast Ronan for the lead role of her directorial debut, Lady Bird. Gerwig was also vocal about wanting Ronan to be in her latest blockbuster, Barbie, and was upset when Ronan was unable to be in the film due to scheduling conflicts. Chances are, Gerwig will want Ronan to her Narnia movies, even if the role is smaller to accommodate the actor's busy schedule.
Our Take on Ronan's Possible Narnia Casting
Can Ronan Make a Good Susan?
Ronan has a track record of playing lead roles in Gerwig-directed films. While she is rumored to play a ing role in Netflix's reboot, Ronan would make a perfect Susan Pevensie, who's wise and nurturing, brave and warm. Popularized by Anna Popplewell, Susan Pevensie is the second eldest Pevensie child.
Ronan certainly has the matching appearance for the role. Though her Lady Bird role is more rebellious than Susan, Jo March in Little Women shares certain similar traits to Susan. They are both confrontational to stereotypical female characters and showcase bravery. On the other hand, Susan's character in the books lacks contrasts. Ronan could potentially bring out the fierce side of Susan if she's cast for the role.
