There are a ton of unique weapons for each playable character in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and you can find them across all three acts through exploration, defeating enemies, or completing certain story objectives. Weapons are specific to each character, and you'll be able to tell quickly which weapon belongs to what character based on the weapon's suffix. For example, all of Gustave's weapons end in the suffix -am, such as the Noahram or Demonam sword and pistols. Most weapons have unique upgrade bonuses at Levels 4, 10, and 20, with some exceptions.
WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR CLAIR OBSCUR: EXPEDITION 33!The locations I've included here are based on where I found each weapon during my playthrough of Clair Obscur, but certain weapons are found in different areas and are dependent on the type of enemy you defeat. You might find them elsewhere depending on where you explore first. When you enter NG+, picking up these weapons will upgrade them to a much higher level. Weapons scale with a primary and secondary attribute, including Vitality, Might, Agility, Defense, and Luck, and will always have an Element, such as Ice, Earth, or even Physical.

All Gustave & Verso Weapons & Locations In Clair Obscur
Gustave & Verso Have Overlapping Weapon Sets
Because Verso essentially takes over Gustave's role at the end of the first Act of Clair Obscur, they both use weapons from the same weapon pool with the suffixes -am and -so. Gustave will not have weapon upgrade bonuses during Act 1, but most of his weapons will be given upgrades once you start playing as Verso. Gustave's distinct combat style revolves around his Overcharge ability, and his weapons of choice are a sword and pistol combo.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Skyrockets As Early GOTY Contender With High Metacritic Score
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a game made by approximately 30 people, has shot to the second-highest place on Metacritic with a score of 91.
Verso specializes in a sword and dagger combo, and his distinct combat style includes gaining Perfection and upgrading Ranks to deal heavy damage. Both characters are great for dealing Break damage and Breaking enemies with various unique skills. Weapons for both characters are found by exploring Clair Obscur, defeating various enemies, purchased at merchants, etc., but all of the weapons Gustave collects will be available to Verso in Act 2. Further, the upgrades you see here will NOT be available until you play as Verso.

All Lune Weapons & Locations In Clair Obscur
Get In Touch With The Elements With Lune's Dynamic Weapons
Lune specializes in generating Elemental Status effect stacks called Stains, which include Fire, Ice, Earth, Lightning, Light - and even Dark Stains in the case of Lune's unique Lithelim and Scaverim weapons. Some of these upgrade bonuses on Lune's weapons will decrease the AP cost of specific elemental skills, while others can increase damage based on the type of Stains she has active. Lune's weapons end in the suffix -im.
Lune's skills and weapons require a good understanding of how to balance the elements, such as using Fire Stains to enhance Lightning Skills, Lightning Stains to enhance Earth Skills, and so on. Ultimately, you'll want to choose a weapon that fits your playstyle and equip Skills that synergize with its bonuses and element. Lune is a personal favorite character in of combat style, and there are so many directions you can take her in thanks to the numerous weapons available in Clair Obscur.

All Maelle Weapons & Locations In Clair Obscur
Maelle's Weapons Complement Her Various Stances
Maelle has a wide selection of sabres and epee-style weapons that affect her various Stances, from Stanceless position to Defensive, Offensive, and finally Virtuose Stance, her most powerful position. These weapons will have differing effects on each Stance depending on their upgrade bonuses, and each one also has its own distinct Element that should complement your chosen Maelle skills. Any Maelle build should take into which Stance the chosen weapon emphasizes when choosing her skills.

Fans Worry That The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered Will Overshadow Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Some fans are taking to social media to express concern over The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered's release overshadowing Expedition 33.
Maelle's weapons typically end with the suffix -um, with the exception of the Barrier Breaker quest weapon that is acquired during the main story and is also viable for a dedicated build of its own. My weapon of choice for Maelle is the Medalum, which is won during the Gestral Tournament in the Gestral Village and starts you off automatically in Virtuose Stance at Level 4, doubles every Burn stack applied at Level 10, and doubles Maelle's Burn damage at Level 20. It's perfect for a Maelle Fire build that incorporates her various Burn-stacking skills.

All Sciel Weapons & Locations In Clair Obscur
Sciel's Scythes Buff Her Foretell & Twilight Features
Sciel uses a dual-bladed scythe and has an interesting combat style, focusing on Foretell cards that she can stack on enemies, with Sun skills and then consume with Moon skills. When she collects both a Sun and a Moon card, she automatically enters a Twilight state with unique buffs, including double the Foretell limit and accrual amount.
Sciel can be optimized for both a hardcore single-target damage dealer or a functional unit depending on which Scythe you choose and which skills you pick to synergize with. Sciel is a prime candidate for a class thanks to her three unique Harvest skills: Harvest, Plentiful Harvest, and Grim Harvest, each with unique party buffs. Similarly, some of her best weapon options have buffs that benefit the entire party, such as the Ramassaon and Litheson.

All Monoco Weapons & Locations In Clair Obscur
Monoco Is Light On Weapons Due To Numerous Skills
Relatively speaking, Monoco has far fewer weapon choices than the other characters in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but that is likely because he has many more unique skill options to choose from. Monoco is among the quirkiest of the playable characters in the game, and he learns new skills by collecting the feet of slain Nevrons in battle. You can only unlock his skills by having him active in your party, so it's imperative you grab one of the best early-available Monoco weapons before unlocking some of his better skills.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33|Reveal Trailer - Xbox Games Showcase 2024
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is officially revealed with an exciting trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase, Summer 2024.
Monoco's weapons end in the suffix -ro, and they all focus on his unique combat style that incorporates the Bestial Wheel, his five different Masks, and their associated skills. Monoco's skills will rotate the Bestial Wheel a set number of turns, landing on a designated mask. He can then use a corresponding Mask skill to take advantage of its upgrade bonus. Monoco's weapons interact with the Bestial Wheel in varying ways, sometimes even reversing its order.

Overall, there are many weapons to choose from for each character in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and you will be able to design an entire character and party build based on the various synergizing features across the board. There are endless possibilities when it comes to party composition, with so many different ways to synergize features from each character into a cohesive and effective team.
This list of weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is incomplete, and many more from Act 3 will be added at a later date.
You'll also want to consider changing up your builds for each character when entering different areas, as certain enemy types may be immune to elements featured in your preferred type of build. You'll want to reserve a lot of your Recoat for the late-game of Clair Obscur, particularly in Act 3 when you start to explore the more mysterious and dangerous areas in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
