Kevin Smith's third entry in the Clerks franchise and his latest entry in his connective universe of films known as the View Askewniverse has wrapped up its theatrical run and is now heading to digital markets. The major characters from the previous two Clerks films, of course, appear, but as always, Smith has also brought back several surprising characters from across the View Askewniverse's many entries.

With Clerks III imminently viewable inside audiences' homes, it's important to where exactly each one of these iconic Kevin Smith characters were last seen before they made their triumphant return.

Dante Hicks - Jay And Silent Bob Reboot

Dante Hicks, the endearing yet eminently miserable protagonist of the Clerks franchise is second only to the duo of Jay and silent Bob in of appearances in the View Askewniverse, appearing in nearly every film within the franchise, and being replaced by one of his various siblings (also played by Brian O'Halloran) in any film he is absent.

Thus, it's no surprise that before Clerks III, Dante's most recent appearance came in the View Aksewniverse film just preceding it, Jay And Silent Bob Reboot. Dante's appearance in the film is a fitting one, seeing him opening up the Quick Stop and complaining about its steel shutters once again being jammed (of course due to Jay and Silent Bob).

Randal Graves - Clerks II

While Randal's heart attack and quest to make a movie acts as the main plot of Clerks III, he is, for the most part, the secondary protagonist in the first two Clerks film, though he does have a major arc in Clerks II.

The film, his last appearance before Clerks III, sees Randal finally accept and confess how important Dante is to his life and express how much he enjoys working at the Quick Stop with him, leading to the two to rebuild the store and run it as its owners. It's a beautiful moment for the characters, and likely one of the reasons that the film stands as Kevin Smith's favorite film he's ever made.

Becky Scott - Clerks II

While Rosario Dawson appeared in the View Askewniverse since Clerks II with a role as Reggie, Justice Faulken's wife in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, her most significant character in the View Askewniverse, Becky Scott, had only appeared in the film she was introduced in before her role in Clerks III.

Despite this, Becky Scott became a very memorable character in that one appearance. Dante and Randal's boss at the fast food restaurant, Mooby's, Becky becomes pregnant with Dante's child, complicating the latter's plans to leave for Florida and marry his fiancé, Emma. Dante, however, realizes he is in love with Becky and proposes to her. She happily accepts, and the film ends with her aiding Dante and Randal in reopening the Quick Stop.

Jay - Jay And Silent Bob Reboot

Jay and Silent Bob, having appeared in every film within the View Askewniverse, of course starred in the film Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The film sees the pair once again trekking to Hollywood in order to stop the production of the newest Bluntman and Chronic film, but the Kevin Smith movie takes a much sweeter turn when the duo discovers that Jay has a daughter he's never met named Milly.

The film sees Jay coming to with fatherhood and trying to become a true dad to Milly, ending with Jay and Silent Bob sharing the joys of messing with Dante at the Quick Stop with her.
