Warning: Spoilers for Cobra Kai season 6

A scene in The Karate Kid timeline. Renowned as the fighter who trained John Kreese and Terry Silver, Master Kim looks set to be one of Cobra Kai's final villains - if not the show's ultimate antagonist.

Based on the direction the series is taking, his primary opponents will be Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso. As the main protagonists of the series and the co-heads of the Miyagi-do dojo, they're on a collision course with Kreese, who is leading Kim Sun-Yung's students into the Sekai Taikai tournament. Kreese's current alliance with Master Kim naturally makes the latter an enemy to both Daniel and Johnny. This could extend to Chozen as well, assuming he comes back in time for the start of the competition. The fact that the two share a personal connection could make this an especially interesting encounter.

Chozen's Uncle Had A History With Kim Sun-Yung

The Karate Kid Part II's Sato Disliked Kim-Sung Yung

Sato prepares to fight Miyagi in The Karate Kid II

When Chozen first recognized the fighting style used by Terry Silver in Cobra Kai season 5, Chozen immediately knew he had been trained by Kim Sun-Yung. Chozen had learned about Master Kim from Sato, Chozen's uncle and a character featured in The Karate Kid Part II. Chozen didn't seem to have much knowledge about their relationship, but claimed that Sato had "much anger" toward Kim. Cobra Kai was notably ambiguous about Sato's connection to Master Kim, which suggests that it'll be vital to the show's future.

Since both taught martial arts and seemed to have animosity toward one another, it can be assumed that the two were rivals in some way. That could be of particular importance to Cobra Kai season 6 with Chozen and Master Kim set up to be on opposing sides during the Sekai Taikai (and whatever comes after). If Chozen learns the full details of Kim's history with Sato, it could lead to Chozen looking to avenge a slight against his uncle. Family honor is already known to be a priority for Chozen, so him taking up Sato's role in whatever conflict he had with Kim makes sense for his character.

Kim Sun Yung looking suspicious in Cobra Kai

Looking at the setup the series has in place for Chozen when it comes to Master Kim, it feels like it's only a matter of time before the two clash. But, given Kim Sun-Yung's age in Cobra Kai, a fight between them seems unlikely and rather unfair. That said, their history could provoke a huge fight with Kreese. As students of Sato and Master Kim respectively, Chozen and Kreese could fight for the honor of their senses and represent the second generation of their rivalry. Alternatively, an insult to Sato from Kim could incur Chozen's wrath, prompting Kreese to fight him on his sensei's behalf in Cobra Kai.
