Warning: Spoilers for Cobra Kai season 6 part 2

Any remaining uncertainties regarding the John Kreese vs. Terry Silver debate have been cleared up by the brawl that unfolded in Cobra Kai season 6 part 2's ending. Decades after serving as co-antagonists to Daniel LaRusso in The Karate Kid Part III, Silver and Kreese found themselves on a collision course at the end of the season 4 finale. Though Kreese's vow to get revenge went unfulfilled in season 5, there remained a sense that his story couldn't end without a confrontation between him and his former partner.

Cobra Kai finally delivered on that promise during Johnny and Daniel's Miyagi-Do dojo when Terry Silver turned out to be the person backing the Iron Dragons dojo. His desire for paypack set up a perfect opportunity for Cobra Kai to settle their differences and pit the two against each other at least. By all indications, the fight ultimately didn't end their beef, but as for the question of which character is the superior fighter - that's no longer up in the air.

From the looks of things, Kreese had every intention of not giving Silver a fighting chance and killing him with Kim Sun-Yung's knife. But due to losing the knife in the chaos of all the Sekai Taikai teams fighting, Kreese was forced to enjoy a fair fight with Silver. Kreese got off the first punch, and seemed capable of striking him with more power, based on how much Silver reeled from his blows. But by creating some distance with one of his signature kicks, Silver was able to disappear from Kreese's sight just long enough to launch a surprise attack.

In the past, Silver has proven how adept he is at seizing the momentum and acting quickly to incapacitate a winded opponent. Similar to how he used this tactic to defeat Johnny in season 4, Silver employed a rapid series of attacks Kreese wasn't quick enough to defend. This secured him the win, and cemented his status as the better fighter between the two Cobra Kai villains.

Terry Silver's Win Makes Kreese The Weakest Of Cobra Kai's Major Legacy Fighters

It's Unlikely That Kreese Can Beat Any Of The Original Karate Kid Fighters

In light of Terry Silver's victory over Kreese, it's safe to say that Martin Kove's character - in spite of his menacing reputation - is the weakest of the major legacy fighters in Cobra Kai. Daniel defeated him in season 3's finale with the secret Miyagi-Do move Chozen taught him, and Johnny would have won as well if it weren't for Robby's intervention. What's more, both Daniel (and now Johnny) have definitive wins over Silver, which is a claim that Kreese can't fairly make.

If he's not on the same level as either of them, it can be presumed that Kreese wouldn't be able to beat Chozen either. After all, a strong case can be that he's The Karate Kid franchise's best fighter. Not only did he breeze his way through a number of karate instructors, but he also edged out Terry Silver in a one-on-one fight - while drunk. With that in mind, it's hard to imagine him beating Chozen. Something similar can be said of Mike Barnes, who fought evenly with Chozen and lost a close fight to Johnny.

Has Cobra Kai Ended Terry Silver & John Kreese's Rivalry?

Kreese & Silver Could Fight Again Before The Show Ends

After the way things ended in Cobra Kai season 6 part 2, it's worth wondering if Kreese will get another chance to beat Silver. Kreese has never been one to let go of a grudge, so the character preparing a second attempt at revenge on Silver isn't unfeasible by any means. If that were to happen, Cobra Kai could theoretically change course and let Kreese win the rematch - just as did with Johnny and Silver - but Silver, who seemingly has Kreese beat when it comes to speed and ingenuity, is unlikely to let that happen.

Kreese never intended for any of the kids to lose their lives in his pursuit of revenge.

It's important to note, though, that the two fighting again isn't necessarily a guarantee. Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 ended with the two still at odds, but their issues with each other could soon be overshadowed by the fallout from Kwon's death. Silver, and especially Kreese, appeared genuinely dismayed by what happened on the tournament floor. His reaction reflects the idea that for all his flaws, Kreese never intended for any of the kids to lose their lives in his pursuit of revenge. For that reason, it could serve as a major turning point in Kreese's character arc and how he intends to deal with Silver.
