The cast of Cobra Kai season 6 underline, there are brewing personal conflicts that the main characters will have to address, and it could turn ugly.
In an interview with Screen Rant's Grant Hermanns, ahead of the premiere of Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 on Netflix on November 15, Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) and Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo) preview the tension that the two friends and so-called Binary Bros will experience, with a lot of the strife revolving around Demetri's excitement over MIT. In the quote below, fellow cast from the Karate Kid spinoff chime in about how the conflict will escalate and echo a key moment from season 2, which is Miguel's balcony fall:
Bertrand: Well, I'll tell you this, Demetri doesn't stop yapping about MIT. [Chuckles]
DeCenzo: Dude, he does not. It's really awkward. [Laughs] It's really awkward to be like, "Screw you, I'm going to Barcelona," and then you're also there. [Laughs] But yeah, there's a lot on the line here for these guys, really testing their friendship. You wouldn't think that it could get any worse than what they've gone through in the past. But I mean, this is kind of make or break for the Binary Bros, and it gets to their head. I would say Demetri more so, because he can't handle change.
Bertrand: Yeah, I'll say that Demetri causes Hawk to fall a great distance.
Mary Mo: Almost at the height of a balcony?
Bertrand: Almost at the height of a balcony.
Xolo Maridueña: Almost.
DeCenzo: It is true.
Bertrand: I see it coming though, so it's not as bad.
Maridueña: It was face-first, so you could put your hands out. [Laughs]
Bertrand: But it's still by Demetri's hand, or foot.
DeCenzo: Well, not hand, yeah.
What The Hawk & Demetri Conflict Means For Cobra Kai Season 5
It's About To Get Personal
The ending of Cobra Kai season 6 part 1 begins with the younger set of characters looking towards their future. As teased in the first batch of episodes from season 6, it may be the case that Hawk is less than enthused about the next chapter of his life while Demetri's overenthusiasm may prove to be a little grating. That's especially true considering the stress that Hawk experiences as a result of the Sekai Takai.

It wouldn't be the first major fight between Hawk and Demetri. But unlike Samantha (Mary Mo) and Tory (Peyton List), the argument does not seem to stem from switches and betrayals. It may be something even more difficult to reconcile between Hawk and Demetri in of two close friends taking different paths in life. The only question is whether the friends will come to blows, which the ensemble seems to tease.
Our Take On Hawk & Demetri's Story
It Honors The Show's History
Series co-creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg have a lot to wrap up in these final episodes of Cobra Kai. That includes, on a somewhat smaller scale, bringing closure to the Hawk and Demetri friendship that has been key to the series for several years. But, based on the latest update, it sounds like it will be a little bit bumpy, to say the least.
