Warning! This article contains spoilers for Cobra Kai season 6, part III.

Despite ending its long six-season run on a satisfying note, Cobra Kai season 5's ending felt like the natural conclusion to the Netflix series. However, by featuring John Kreese's prison escape and setting the stage for the Sekai Taikai Tournament, Cobra Kai hinted that it had a few more stories to tell.

To make viewers feel more invested in its narrative, Cobra Kai season 6 introduced new conflicts and even retconned some elements of the franchise's original lore. Owing to its 15-episode run, Cobra Kai season 6's three parts were also expected to tie all loose threads. Although the series delivered a compelling finale, some of its story beats remained unresolved and underdeveloped even after its credits started rolling.

6 What Was Sato's Issue With Kim Sun-Yung?

The Reason Behind Sato's Hate Against Kim Sun-Yung Remains Undisclosed

In Cobra Kai season 5, Chozen revealed that his uncle, Sato, held immense resentment towards Kim Sun-Yung. Given how Cobra Kai season 6 marks Kim Sun-Yung's return as Kreese and Kim Da-Eun's mentor, the show had the perfect opportunity to reveal what Sato had against Sun-Yung. The series' last installment features many flashbacks that highlight Kim Da-Eun's toxic relationship with her grandfather, Kim Sun-Yung.

The reason behind Sato's hatred for Kim Sun-Yung could have been a strong driver for Chozen to train Daniel and Johnny's students in Cobra Kai season 6.

Towards its ending moments, Cobra Kai season 6 also features a showdown between Sun-Yung and his granddaughter. However, despite portraying him as one of the secondary villains, season 6 never delves into the details of Kim Sun-Yung's beef with Sato. The reason behind Sato's hatred for Kim Sun-Yung could have been a strong driver for Chozen to train Daniel and Johnny's students in Cobra Kai season 6. Unfortunately, the show avoids delving into the details of this story beat.

5 What Really Happened Between Mr. Miyagi & Claramunt During The Sekai Taikai?

Cobra Kai Resolves One Mr. Miyagi Backstory Mystery But Fails To Address The Other

Daniel started feeling conflicted about Mr. Miyagi and his lessons in Cobra Kai season 6 when he learned two grave details about his past: he was arrested for assaulting a man, and one of his oppenents in the Sekai Taikai also died while fighting him. Season 6's part 3 reveals that Miyagi got arrested when he used karate on a man who tried to steal his wife's necklace. Daniel finds comfort in this revelation because he realizes that Mr. Miyagi had no ill intentions and only faced legal issues after using karate to defend his honor.

Through a box full of Mr. Miyagi's belongings, Daniel learns a lot more about Mr. Miyagi's mysterious past in Cobra Kai season 6 than he ever expected

The show establishes Mr. Miyagi's innocence in its final moments, but never dives into the details of his Sekai Taikai history. The tournament's logs only reveal that Miyagi's opponent, Claramunt, died during his match against him. Was his death an accident? Or, was Mr. Miyagi a little too aggressive against his opponent during the fight? Many questions surrounding the history of the dead fighter and his death during his match against Miyagi remain unanswered.

4 Why Was Mr. Miyagi A Competitor In The Sekai Taikai?

Mr. Miyagi's Karate History Deserves Its Own Spin-Off Series

Daniel, Johnny, and their students had a long journey behind them before they landed the opportunity to compete at the Sekai Taikai tournament. A series of unforeseeable events and story developments led them to the international tournament, which makes it hard not to wonder what Mr. Miyagi's backstory was before he landed a place as one of the competitors in the Sekai Taikai. Cobra Kai season 6 attempts to add more depth to Daniel's narrative by revealing Mr. Miyagi's dark Sekai Taikai history.

However, it never confirms how he ended up competing on such a large platform. The show also never reveals whether Mr. Miyagi won the tournament and how he reacted to his opponent's demise. With so many aspects of Mr. Miyagi's backstory left uncovered, a Miyagi-focused spin-off would be the perfect addition to the franchise.

3 Are Kreese & Terry Silver Dead?

Kreese & Silver's Fate Is Not Confirmed

John Kreese walks down the path of redemption in Cobra Kai season 6's part 3 after holding himself responsible for Kwon's death. In contrast, Terry Silver refuses to change his ways despite having a ticking clock over his head. This leads to a final conflict between the two characters, where Kreese sets out to stop Silver before he harms Johnny Lawrence in any way.

In an interview (via Netflix), Cobra Kai co-creator Hayden Schlossberg discussed Kreese and Silver's fate, hinting that "John Kreese has come back from the dead before, but this [time it] looks like they’ve [both] been taken off the table."

Although Kreese initially seems to have the upper hand, Silver manages to overpower him and almost chokes him to death. However, Kreese decides to make an ultimate sacrifice by lighting Silver's yacht on fire. A massive explosion erupts out of the boat on which Kreese and Silver fight, suggesting that both characters are dead. However, since the show does not explicitly reveal their fates, it is hard not to question what happened to them.

2 Does Johnny Lawrence's Sekai Taikai Win Make Him A Better Fighter Than Daniel?

Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3 Does Not Feature A Daniel Vs. Johnny Fight

Daniel and Johnny bury their beef and resolve their issues towards the end of Cobra Kai season 5. Although they face some setbacks while attempting to train their students together in Cobra Kai season 6's opening arcs, they never end up reverting to their old rivalry. Owing to this, Cobra Kai does not feature any one-on-one showdowns between the two characters. However, since the two characters' rivalry served as the starting point for the entire Karate Kid franchise and Cobra Kai's opening story beats, viewers have always argued about who among them is the better fighter.

Considering their history in the franchise, both characters have seemingly won an equal number of fights against one another. Cobra Kai season 6 could have finally settled the debate by featuring one final Johnny vs Daniel rematch. However, it makes sense that the season's final installment focuses more on Johnny's redemption instead. Since Johnny manages to beat a much younger and more skilled fighter in the Sekai Taikai sensei division, is it possible that he has finally become a better fighter than Daniel LaRusso?

1 How Did Kreese Travel Internationally Despite Being A Fugitive?

Kreese's Ability To Travel & Attend The Tournament Makes No Sense

Despite being a fugitive, Kreese somehow manages to travel to Barcelona to attend the Sekai Taikai in Cobra Kai season 6. In the final season's part 3, he even manages to return to the Valley without crossing paths with any legal authorities. The ease with which he travels from one part of the world to another and even publicly appears as a dojo's sensei for a major international tournament makes no sense.

Cobra Kai season 6 does not bother explaining how Kreese enjoys so much freedom despite being on the run. However, with so much going on in its story, the show gives viewers a solid reason to overlook such bizarre details.
