The ideologies of Cobra Kai didn't help matters either, and the massive school fight of Cobra Kai season 2, in which Tory used a studded bracelet to seriously wound Sam, began a long road of violence and fear. However, things started to turn around when Tory was challenged to win against Sam in a fair fight. Season 5 saw Tory team up with Sam to take down Terry Silver, evidently ending their old rivalry.

Working together to out Terry Silver as a cheater allowed Tory and Sam to put their hatred for one another behind them, but the trailer for Cobra Kai season 6 has teased how this hasn't necessarily snuffed out their competitive spark. The pair are seen practicing side by side, both wearing Miyagi-Do gi (uniforms), insinuating that they are now on the same team under Daniel LaRusso's instruction. However, Tory and Sam are also seen facing each other, gearing to fight, and the looks on both their faces prove that they are still eager to beat one another.

This makes a lot of sense for these two rivals. Tory's arch in Cobra Kai season 5 revolved around her learning that Terry Silver had bribed the All-Valley referee, and this made her question whether she had won fair and square or the match had been given to her. She had previously decided that she wanted to win against Sam without tricks to prove that she was the stronger fighter. Tory's goal in taking down Silver was to give her the chance to finally do this, so it makes sense that she would still be eager to face Sam in Cobra Kai's final season.

As the strongest female fighters in Cobra Kai, there has been a lot of debate around whether Tory or Sam is better. Sam has managed a few impressive wins over her rival, even successfully taking Tory down during the school fight while seriously injured. However, a lot has changed since then, and it looked as if Tory could have won the All-Valley championship match even without Silver's cheating at the end of season 4. It's difficult to tell who the better fighter is since there has yet to be a standard match between them without outside interference.
