In Season Three, Call of Duty: Mobile was closer to the original but with a Halloween twist.
The next Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War season is right around the corner, with a release date set for April 21. When information on Season Three was still sparse, several leaks came regarding destruction of the Verdansk map. New weapons, game modes, for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone are also expected to be released when Season Three begins, including the classic Black Ops Ballistic Knife (which also leaked beforehand) and the WW2-era PPSh-41.
Known Call of Duty leaker previously rumored map that takes elements from several older maps such as Modern Warfare 2's Highrise, Modern Warfare 3's Dome, and Black Ops 2's Vertigo, doesn't appear to have made the cut for Season Three content.
Though TheGhostOfMW prefaced their leak by saying that the source of their information regarding Echelon and Standoff wasn’t their usual source, it was at least half correct. At that, the half that was correct was on fans' favorite option of the two, so it lends both the leaker and their anonymous friend serious credence. What remains unconfirmed for now is what Season Three will hold for Warzone, which may also fully integrate Black Ops Cold War and Warzone's stories based on a recently released teaser from Activision.
The return of Standoff is something that long-time fans of Call of Duty are excited about, as the map is considered by many as one of the best maps in franchise history. It's awaited return in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War it will give newer fans of the franchise who were unable to try the original a chance to experience it in some form.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
