The more recent installments of Call of Duty’s Zombies mode has seen the inclusion of various buffs for players to utilize, such as faster reload speed, swifter sprinting, more health, and more. As the game mode continues to evolve, it implements creepier zombies and wackier elements (such as Thor’s Hammer) to epitomize chaos. As Black Ops Cold War spends more time on the market, the next installment in its Zombies mode and its release date have officially been revealed.
Titled Outbreak, the newest addition to the Zombies universe was teased on YouTube on the official Call of Duty channel. The new content launches the second season of the undead hordes in Black Ops Cold War. Featuring objectives that see players accomplishing more than surviving, such as protecting a drone rover or preparing a missile for launch, Outbreak adds more to the mayhem by letting players use vehicles to navigate the open map and avoid being consumed by the undead. Beginning Thursday, February 25, the free Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update can be installed.
Zombies have been a popular staple in the gaming industry for decades. From Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead to The Last of Us and Dying Light for their spooky fix, and while there is nothing wrong with those titles, they’re a wholly different experience.
Outbreak’s addition in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War promises to bring more fast-paced action to the creepy experience. More objective-based gameplay adds more for players to juggle as they survive, which should put the team’s multitasking skills to the test. Rather than running and gunning, fans will have to add protecting a rover or getting a missile launched to the equation. Couple this with using vehicles to get around the map andOutbreak should be the most adrenaline-pumping Zombies experience Call of Duty has seen yet, though, there is still something nostalgic and endearing about the original experience in World at War.
