Editor’s Note: A lawsuit has been filed against Activision Blizzard by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which alleges the company has engaged in abuse, discrimination, and retaliation against its female employees. Activision Blizzard has denied the allegations. An update to banning a total of 500,000 Warzone cheaters since the game's launch, but hacks and exploits continue to provide some s an unfair advantage over more honest gamers.

While hackers do continue to pop up in Call of Duty: Warzone, the efforts of Raven Software and the game's community have reduced the number of in-game exploits. Glitches within the game itself have been patched out, while known cheaters have been banned from the game entirely. An in-development console hack was recently shut down by publisher Activision as well, preventing the release of an additional cheating tool. The program would have functioned as an auto-aim system, allowing players to target and shoot enemy players without needing to actually aim their weapon. While the project was d on social media, Activision reached out to the creator and had the project terminated before it could ever plague Warzone's servers.

CharlieIntel's Twitter reported that Raven Software has updated Call of Duty: Warzone's kill feed to call out players being banned. Previous versions of the kill feed would simply state that s were disconnected, even if they were actually being banned from the game. The new practice of announcing a ban means that other s will be aware when hackers, or any variety of offensive players, have been purposefully banned from Warzone. Those who make an effort to report cheaters can now also be sure that their work is not being done in vain.

While the conflict between developers and cheaters rages on, Call of Duty: Warzone may soon receive a brand-new weapon to use against its foes. Rumors suggest that , and this new system will reportedly be brought into Warzone as well. The next installment in the first-person shooter franchise has been heavily rumored, with the game's title and setting being officially confirmed. These prior leaks also suggested that the game will include a newer and stronger way to prevent cheating, although this feature has not been officially detailed as of yet. Warzone will directly tie into Vanguard, as it has done with past releases such as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, so sharing the new anti-cheat system seems quite believable.

Many Call of Duty: Warzone players find their in-game experiences, and even competitive events, ruined by Warzone's hacking problem. While Raven Software has been able to ban a huge number of these players, there are always more who arrive to take their place. Announcing when cheaters are banned is a smart way for players to see their reports paying off, and it may act as a deterrent against others who may think about exploiting the game.
