Although Commander Cody may have been cut from Star Wars projects. Serving alongside the titular Jedi general throughout countless battles against the Separatists, Cody quickly became a fan-favorite clone trooper in the animated Clone Wars series. However, large portions of Cody's life following Order 66 and the rise of the Empire have yet to be revealed.

Becoming one of Kenobi's most trusted allies during the Clone Wars, Cody was Obi-Wan's second-in-command who oversaw the Grand Army of the Republic's 212th Attack Battalion as well as the 7th Sky Corps. Star Wars Rebels, Cody hasn't yet received the same kind of treatment.

Unfortunately, it's been reported that an appearance from Commander Cody was initially planned for Obi-Wan Kenobi but was ultimately cut. The series would have revealed that Cody eventually gets rid of his behavioral chip and is living on Tatooine with Obi-Wan, protecting his former general while seeking to redeem himself from ordering Kenobi's death during Palpatine's Order 66. While future projects could make this idea canon, there are Star Wars projects that would be perfect to continue Cody's story (whatever it may be).

Currently, the majority of Star Wars: Episode III-Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan survived the attack by his former troopers and escaped, leading Cody to believe that Kenobi had been killed. Furthermore, the preexisting canon confirms that Cody would continue serving the Republic-turned-Empire, helping the Imperials in their planetwide takeover of Kashyyyk, the Wookiee homeworld.

Where Commander Cody Will Appear Next In Star Wars

Thankfully, Cody is set to make an appearance in Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2. However, it's possible that he may still be serving the Empire. While the first season confirmed that the clones' behavioral chips eventually wear off, Crosshair still chose to serve the Empire because he genuinely believes in it. As such, Cody may feel the same way, content with his role maintaining galactic order despite the far more oppressive system of government.

Commander Cody could also appear in an episode of the Andor. Set in the early years of the Empire, trailers for the series have confirmed that clone troopers haven't been fully phased out of the Imperial's military structure just yet, providing the perfect opportunity for a Cody cameo. While it's unfortunate that Commander Cody was cut from Obi-Wan Kenobi, at least there are a few avenues for new appearances in future Star Wars endeavors.
