Donald Glover reveals new details about the long-awaited Community movie, including Abed's dream job. Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon’s cult sitcom about a group of misfits bonding at a community college defied the odds by running for six seasons, the last hitting the now-defunct Yahoo Screen back in 2015. Community is now set to make fans’ dreams come true as it fulfills its own famous “six seasons and a movie” prediction by, at long last, delivering that movie.

Details are scarce about what will actually happen in the long-awaited Community movie, but Troy actor Glover just filled in a few blanks, revealing some fun teases about the occasion that brings the group back together, and the dream job Abed is now doing. Check out his remarks below (via THR):

Yeah, [Dan Harmon] told me what he wanted, and I was like, “This sounds great.” It’s a college reunion, but Abed [Danny Pudi’s character] is like this big director now, and basically this is his magnum opus. I’m like, “This sounds f--king tight.”

Abed Being A Film Director Pays Off A Community Season 6 Tease

Among the main Community cast of characters, Danny Pudi’s Abed was always the most steeped in pop culture, and indeed Abed sometimes seemed incapable of communicating except through pop culture references. It makes sense then that the entire Community movie would be filtered through Abed’s point-of-view, being conceived as the film he is directing (presumably, he is actually directing this film in reality, though with Abed it could all be in his mind).

In addition to providing a fun and interesting meta element to the Community movie, this concept actually pays off a Community season 6 tease. In the very last episode of the show, the various characters went their separate ways, and Abed revealed that he was moving to Los Angeles to become a production assistant. It seems that, almost ten years on from that big move, Abed has advanced well beyond an entry-level position in the entertainment business, and is now a successful filmmaker.

Community season 6's finale also teased Annie ing the FBI.

It’s yet to be seen what other surprises are in store for Abed, Troy and the rest of the Community study group, but it seems that Harmon has some interesting ideas for how to bring back his beloved characters. It also seems that Glover approves of Harmon’s plan for making “six seasons and a movie” come true.
