There are many shows that come to mind when one talks about some of the greatest sitcoms of all time, with their unique antics.
That being said, many irk some viewers, with some of their worst qualities being on full display pretty much all the time. Keeping this in mind, here are the worst things about each main character in Community.
Jeff Winger — Unprecedented Narcissism
While it's true that Jeff might be the guy that knits the group together more often than not with his inspirational speeches, the fact of the matter is that he does so mostly because he likes the sound of his own voice.
In fact, most of the things that he does in the show are done mostly to benefit himself, with no thought given to anyone else. Thankfully, this incessant narcissism tones down over the course of the show, to the point where he actually starts being somewhat selfless... although his relentless self-love and adoration is still clear for all to see.
Britta Perry — Virtue Signalling
Britta's character ends up taking a sharp downward turn as the series progresses, with the group constantly ragging on her for sucking the fun out of most — if not all — activities.
Of course, one can only feel sorry for Britta to an extent — the fact that she constantly virtue signals about the smallest things and its to not doing the morally right thing all the time is a testament to just how shallow she really is as a character.
Annie Edison — Goody Two-Shoes
Annie might be one of the more sensible people in the group... but that is no excuse for her to take the high ground every single time and berate anybody who might try and cheat at things to make their life easier.
Often times she literally forces people into doing the right thing, mostly to fulfill her own selfish needs.
Troy Barnes — Incessant Self-Hatred
When one talks about some of the best characters in Community, it goes without saying that Troy Barnes would rank pretty high on this list.
Even his most negative trait is something that people can relate with to an extent — the act of constantly hating and degrading oneself, to the point where one loses the belief they had in themselves altogether.
Abed Nadir — Dangerously Delusional
The negative trait of Abed is something that most people already familiar with — looking at life through a fictional lens that is completely delusional and failing to live in the moment time and time again.
The worst part about this is that Abed's friends don't even try to improve his mentality (barring a few occasions) — instead, they just end up feeding his delusions even more, which is clearly not a healthy thing in the slightest.
Shirley Bennett — Religious Zealot
Shirley seems like one of the sweeter characters on the entire show... but long-time fans are well aware of the hidden agenda that she sports at all times.
Shiley is a devoted servant of God, and wastes no time in forcing her beliefs on other people... that is, when she's not indirectly implying that anyone who isn't a Christian will receive the wrath of God in hell.
Pierce Hawthorne — Despicable All-Around Behavior
One doesn't need to describe outright the issues that Pierce has as a character — in fact, trying to list out just one negative trait out of the many this person has is a tough task in itself.
Instead, his personality and behavior is a massive negative trait in and of itself, featuring everything from unmitigated racism and sexism to an overbearing sense of self-importance that never fails to creep in during pretty much every single scene he's featured in.
Craig Pelton — Creepily Clingy
Dean Pelton might be a person who is nice at heart, but his stupidity is something that certainly takes his impact down a notch.
However, even the nicest people are free from any character flaws, and the Dean suffers from a rather critical character flaw — he's overbearingly clingy at times. Not only that, but this clinginess can take on a rather creepy vibe when he wants to hang out with people he's overly fond of, such as Jeff.
Ben Chang — Undiagnosed Psychotic
The fact that Chang is completely crazy yet never goes to a psychiatrist or someone along the same lines to rewire his mind is a red flag that no one at Greendale should've ignored.
Unfortunately, Chang is left to his own devices more often than not, which leads to situations where his insanity leads to the detriment of everyone around him... although it does allow for some truly hilarious moments.
Ian Duncan — Self-Destructive Alcoholic
Dr. Ian Duncan might seem like a fairly intelligent character... that is before his alcoholism takes over and people get to see a deeper and darker side of him — something that happens way too often.
There are times when Ian actually gives proper analyses and advice to people who need it. It's just a shame that most of these good things are undercut by his self-destructive alcoholic tendencies.
