Jack Quaid explains why people shouldn't watch the next The Boys star Jack Quaid, Sophie Thatcher, Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.
In a profile by The Hollywood Reporter, Quaid called Companion "one of the best scripts [he's] ever read," but warned viewers not to watch the next trailer if they want to go in blind. The actor recommends that people don't watch the next trailer if they are already planning to see the movie, but if they are still undecided, they should watch the next trailer and decide for themselves. Read Quaid's full comments below:
I thought it was one of the best scripts I’d ever read. [Director] Drew Hancock did such a great job crafting that and making a story that I was never sure where it was gonna go the entire time. It’s a very timely story. It’s one of those things that I read, much like The Boys, where I was like, “I have to be a part of this thing.” And I meeting with Drew and just being like, “If you want me, I’m yours. This is unbelievable.” And thank God I got to be a part of it because it really was one of my favorite experiences I’ve had as an actor. It has such a great cast in it that I was really lucky to work with, like Sophie Thatcher, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, Lukas Gage, Rupert Friend. It was just kind of a murderer’s row that I got to watch work. … I’m very excited for people to check it out. I would implore them, if it is a movie that you are already going to see, try to look up as little about it as you possibly can. It’s a movie that is best enjoyed when you go in as blind as possible. So if you’re already gonna go see it, don’t even watch the next trailer that comes out. Like, please don’t. If you’re still on the fence, watch it and make that decision for yourself.
What Jack Quaid's Comments Mean For The Next Companion Trailer
It Likely Contains A Major Reveal
The first Companion trailer was released in early October 2024, and begins with Jack Quaid and Sophie Thatcher's characters seemingly on a romantic dinner date while superimposed text teases that "New Line Cinema, the studio that brought you The Notebook, cordially invites you to experience a new kind of love story." Shortly after, it's revealed that Thatcher's character is handcuffed to the chair, and the trailer takes a tonal turn, teasing it as "from the unhinged creators of Barbarian," an acclaimed 2022 horror film.

Is Too Much Information in Trailers Spoiling Movies?
Over the years film trailers have become filled with spoilers. Is too much information in pre-release marking ruining movies?
The rest of the Companion trailer is light on the plot, though Quaid's character appears to be holding Thatcher's captive and torturing her for his own enjoyment. Quaid's comments suggest that the next Companion trailer will reveal a lot more about the movie, possibly regarding the group of friends, who the billionaire is, and the nature of his death. Companion was also previously reported to be a sci-fi thriller, suggesting there is a lot more yet to be revealed about the enigmatic movie.
