Pokémon GO is a mobile Pokémon game that brings the fun of catching and battling Pokémon in the wild to the real world, and trainers can encounter over 800 Pokémon across the globe. Since its release in 2016, Pokémon GO has had more players than any other Pokémon game, and trainers from around the world have come together to battle, trade, and participate in community events over their shared love of Pokémon. With a Pokédex almost as big as the complete National Pokédex that spans the entire franchise, trainers will have plenty of exploring to do on their quest to catch 'em all.

Pokémon tend to appear in habitats that complement their types in Pokémon GO. For instance, Water-Type Pokémon appear more frequently near rivers, lakes, and oceans, while Grass-Types spawn in forests and grasslands. However, as the seasons change, trainers will find different Pokémon in various habitats as well. While an official list of habitats has not been released, some of the habitats listed on the official Pokémon GO website include Cities, Forests, Mountains, and Bodies of Water. In addition, during each season, the Pokémon that appear in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres change as well, so trainers in different parts of the world will encounter different Pokémon in the wild depending on the time of year. Pokémon are also affected by the local weather conditions in Pokémon GO, and trainers will be able to encounter certain Types more frequently during specific conditions. For instance, rainy weather will draw out Water-, Electric-, and Bug-type Pokémon, while sunny weather will cause Fire, Grass, and Ground-Types to appear more frequently.

In addition to catching Pokémon in the wild in Pokémon GO, trainers can add to their Pokédex by participating in Raids, completing Special Research, and hatching Eggs. However, some Pokémon will only be available during special events or Seasons, and while some of them can simply be caught in the wild, others require a bit more work to be added to the Pokédex. Of course, as with all Pokémon games, players can evolve their Pokémon to add them to the Pokédex as well. Typically, Pokémon can evolve once players obtain enough Candy, though some have special evolution conditions that require other methods or items like Evolution Stones. New Pokémon are added to Pokémon GO periodically, and players can find Pokémon from every major region of the Pokémon world in this massive AR mobile game.
