Everything Revealed By The Continental Trailer

Colin Woodell as Winston Scott in The Continental

The Continental trailer reveals the basic plot of the John Wick prequel series. The inciting incident occurs when Winston's brother Frankie (Ben Robson) steals something from Mel Gibson's mafia kingpin Cormac, which is very important to a lot of dangerous people. Charon, the Continental concierge played by the late Lance Reddick in the John Wick movies, also appears to be working for Cormac. With this character, The Continental will explore a variation of real-world events from the 1970s, including the American Mafia's rise to economic power.

Instead of returning the stolen object, Winston rounds up all the help he can get in a harrowing attempt to strike Cormac first and seize the Continental, a mysterious underworld full of freaky and well-armed assassins. This ensuing bloodbath, and possibly the death of his brother, is what likely motivates Winston to establish the Continental as a safe haven for assassins once he overtakes it. Exactly how Winston seizes the hotel where he eventually takes his throne will be revealed when The Continental premieres September 22 on Peacock.
