The breakout hit Control surprised gamers everywhere with its impressive gameplay and amazing visuals. The combination of tight third-person controls and intriguing supernatural abilities has made for a wonderful gaming experience. One of the most interesting and difficult aspects of the game is its boss battles. These require players to be quick on their feet and be well versed in weapon mechanics and abilities.

Many of these bosses are wildly different and unique, but there is one that players will have to face twice: Tommasi. This boss is the first one that players will be tasked with facing and is difficult enough at such a low level. Players would think that the second fight would be much simpler considering the abundance of skills they have collected over the course of Control. Sadly, this fight winds up being the most difficult that the game throws at the player. This guide will help make sure things go a little smoother.

Deciding Which of Control's Weapons to Use

Control pierce

Knowing which weapons to bring into this fight is by far the most important aspect. While it is possible to use something other than what we recommend, these weapons will give players a leg up. These are the weapons that players should prioritize:

Pierce- Having this weapon is an absolute must for this fight. It will give players the ability to break shields, and also cause a large amount of damage. This more than makes up for its long charging time.

Shatter- This one is less important against Tommasi, but invaluable against the other Hiss that the fight. The upside to this one is that, as a shotgun, players won't have to worry about precisely aiming at targets. Just firing in their general direction should do the trick.

Beating Tommasi in Control

Control Tommasi

At first, it seems like the strategy that players used during the first fight against Tommasi would work, but it seems like the boss has become faster, and his new shield makes him impervious to damage. Theoretically, the player could use launch to throw objects, but most of the time he seems to dodge them.  Instead, players will want to focus on using Pierce against him instead.

Pierce is perfect for draining Tommasi's shield, but players will need to avoid his attacks as well. The best bet here to hide behind one of the stone pillars in the area and pop out to shoot in between his attacks. Players should continue doing this to take down his shield. Once the shield is down players should then use Pierce on him as it is extremely difficult for him to dodge the weapon.

Eventually, Tommasi will summon Hiss soldiers to help out during the fight, and players will want to pull out Shatter to deal with this portion of the fight. They should attempt to remain behind cover as it is very easy to get turned around and take a massive hit from Tommasi or his minions. The biggest thing to keep an eye out for though, other than the boss himself, are the Hiss Distorted. These are the floating creatures with vapor trailing behind them. Players should let loose everything they have at these creatures and kill them as quickly as possible before it can do the same.

Players should keep in mind that if Tommasi is ignored for too long his shield will begin to regenerate, so keeping some form of damage on him while fighting minion is a good idea. Additionally, players should try to use their shield only when running in wide-open spaces, as their energy should be conserved for using launch against minions. As long as players can keep his shield down and avoid his annoying minions they should be able to finish this fight in no time.
