Reality television is a magnet for drama. That’s what the concept is about, though. When egos are pitted against each other in the most insane situations, things are bound to happen that will leave the audience in shock and disbelief.
2019 has certainly been a great year for reality TV. Given that it’s been an eventful and successful year for our favorite drama-filled spectacles of shows, it hasn’t been without controversy either. Here are our picks for this year’s most controversial reality TV moments.
5. Sean Spicer Being On Dancing With the Stars

4. Jed Wyatt’s Secret Girlfriend During The Bachelorette
Hannah Brown’s season of legitimately head-over-heels for her. While that was a major red flag, it was also seen as candid and honest and may have helped thrust Wyatt forward in winning her over.
This all came crashing down just after the Wyatt’s Bachelorette debut. Jed wasn’t the only Bachelor to have had a relationship just prior to filming the season. Our next Bachelor, Peter Weber, had a similar controversy, but he ended up clearing his name as him and his girlfriend had actually broken up. Jed, regretfully, made no such claim.
3. Sumit’s Secret Marriage on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way
Many of lovers Jenny Slatten and Sumit. After Sumit got a call on his phone, he began to act strange, briefly panicking and telling Jenny to lock the door. Shortly after, there was a knock on the door from the father-in-law of Sumit. Sumit has been married to another woman for the last two years.

2. Peter Weber Announced as The Bachelor
Typically when disliked Bachelor candidate. It’s more an issue of who it could have been, as many fans had a couple of others in mind.
This announcement has started somewhat of a feud between Peter and former Bachelor in Paradise star Mike Johnson, who rallied with fans in hopes of the very first black Bachelor being announced. Mike was seen as a viable candidate to make this historic moment happen, but it just wasn’t in the cards for him. At least for now.
1. Ashley Martson Jay Smith Drama on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
There’s a lot to unpack here, but it all started when Ashley Martson discovered her husband, led to his deportation back to Jamaica. Jay Smith took to social media to let us know he had found love with a vacationer in Jamaica.
Ashley Martson herself even confirmed herself to be in a relationship with the controversial recently seen partying together, telling us this story isn’t over just yet and we’ll likely be seeing them in the news for a while.
