Some epic cookies in Cookie Run: Kingdom have unique "magic candies" unlocked when they reach level 50. These are similar to the "crystal jams" that some legendary cookies can obtain but are slightly easier to make. Both require resonant ingredients to create and upgrade, but the resonant ingredients for magic candies can be crafted in the Magic Laboratory. Upgrading a cookie's magic candy will revamp its regular skills and make it considerably more powerful.

Unless you plan on using many speed-ups, crafting these resonant ingredients will be quite time-consuming, as each requires an hour and a half to create. With over 30 magic candies in the game, you should only focus on upgrading the ones that will benefit you the most. Which cookies have the best magic candies in Cookie Run: Kingdom, and where should you use them?

Crafted With Strength Crystals And Chewy Raisins

Black Raisin Cookie First Encounter Gacha Animation Cookie Run Kingdom

Though Black Raisin Cookie is far from having a place in the arena meta, with an upgraded magic candy, she's still a solid choice for world exploration or substitute for other cookies in a team focused on dark damage. She's particularly useful when paired with a debuffer such as Black Sapphire Cookie since her magic candy skill amplifies debuffs received by enemies—her own skill inflicts the "consuming darkness" debuff. Outside of her synergy with other cookies, she's a decent damage dealer and one of the better ambush cookies.

Crafted With Arcane Crystals And Dainty Pine Cones

Pinecone Cookie First Encounter Gacha Animation Cookie Run Kingdom

Pinecone Cookie is particularly useful in the Living Abyss Guild Battle, but even when they don't have a magic candy active, they are also a surprisingly powerful cookie overall. Their attacks deal significant ice-type area damage, and they will stun any enemy suffering from the "frost" debuff, dealing extra damage to opponents who are immune to being stunned. This makes them suitable to pair up with Frost Queen Cookie in a freeze team build and to help someone like Blueberry Pie Cookie do extra damage to the stunned targets.

There is now another viable team for the Living Abyss, which includes Black Forest Cookie and Wedding Cake Cookie instead of Pinecone Cookie and Frost Queen Cookie. However, if you already have the latter two built, they will work just as well.

Using their skill, they summon a Tree Golem for 15 seconds, raising their maximum HP and healing the two allies with the highest attack stats. When their magic candy is active, the golem will also increase their defense and damage resistance. Pinecone Cookie will also receive an HP shield when the golem is dismissed. Pinecone Cookie's magic candy isn't completely necessary since it only provides them with a few buffs to improve their longevity, but it's still very useful if you plan to use them consistently or at higher guild battle levels.

Crafted With Arcane Crystals And Puffy Little Cream Puffs

Cream Puff Cookie is a decent cookie to use and can either be extremely tricky or very easy to build depending on how successful your guild is since her soul stones can only be normally obtained through the guild gacha. If you get lucky and can promote her, you should definitely also consider upgrading her magic candy. Her main ability can deal considerable light damage as well as heal the rest of the team. Instead of dealing critical hits, her spell has a chance of "super success," which inflicts over 1,000% of her attack stat as light damage.

The only other way to obtain Cream Puff if you don't use the guild gacha is through choice chests.

With her magic candy activated, Cream Puff Cookie will receive buffs to her attack stat, improving the damage and healing she can deal even further. She'll also gain an undispellable "Cream Buff," which increases the damage she does every time she performs a successful spell. Though she is quite obsolete compared to a character such as Awakened Pure Vanilla Cookie, who also heals and deals light-type damage, she can serve as a good substitute if you haven't obtained him or if he is otherwise unavailable.

Crafted With Arcane Crystals And Ink-Stained Coins

Squid Ink Cookie First Encounter Gacha Animation Cookie Run Kingdom

Squid Ink Cookie has fallen considerably out of the arena meta since their release, but they are still a good damage dealer for newer players to temporarily invest in. Their attack is pretty straightforward and functions similarly to an ambush cookie, disappearing from the ranks of their team to deal up to seven rapid attacks to their opponents in the form of a giant squid. They deal Water-type damage and can be very effective in world exploration or other PvE game modes.

Which toppings and beascuits should you apply to Shadow Milk Cookie's disciple, Candy Apple Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom?

With a magic candy active, they can attack up to ten times and also reduce their enemies' defense. Conveniently, their magic candy grants them the ability to do extra damage to enemies with a defense-reduction debuff, so their attack is generally a lot more powerful than how it is described. This also means that they're also good to pair up with other cookies that can lower defense, such as Candy Apple Cookie.

Crafted With Strength Crystals And Dark Cocoa Beans

Dark Choco Cookie First Encounter Gacha Animation Cookie Run Kingdom

Since the release of his father, Dark Cacao Cookie, Dark Choco Cookie is seen less and less in certain team compositions. However, he's still great at using in-game modes with a focus on darkness-type damage, such as a boss rush stage or as a tank for a backup team in Cookie Alliance. Similarly to Black Raisin Cookie, he inflicts the "Consuming Darkness" debuff onto enemies and harshly lowers their defense.

When on a team with Dark Cacao Cookie, Dark Choco Cookie will receive +25.0% damage resistance, +50.0% to his "channel darkness" ability, and +10.0% to attack.

Equipping Dark Choco with his magic candy increases the darkness damage dealt by allies and inflicts a buff onto enemies, which makes them more vulnerable to darkness damage. Pairing him with Dark Cacao Cookie as a team leader will be extremely beneficial since his rally effect also raises the damage dealt by darkness-type cookies. Even without the elemental buffs, Dark Choco is an exceptional early-game tank and used to be my go-to before I obtained Dark Cacao and Burning Spice.

Crafted With Arcane Crystals And Blueberry Pie

Blueberry Pie Cookie First Encounter Gacha Animation Cookie Run Kingdom

Blueberry Pie Cookie is another cookie useful in the Living Abyss guild battle and is present in both recommended teams. Whenever one of her opponents becomes incapacitated, she gains a stack of "greed," which can be applied up to seven times. Upon receiving the last stack of greed, she will release a powerful electricity attack called "sealed power." Pairing her with cookies that can stun large amounts of enemies allows her to quickly wipe out her opponents.

With her magic candy upgraded, her sealed power deals more damage, and she also zaps her enemies, nullifying any HP shields. Similarly to Pinecone Cookie, she is still quite powerful without her magic candy, but it's best to invest in upgrading her if you plan to use her consistently. Her place in the Living Abyss meta is unnegotiable, so she is definitely a must-build if you want your guild to achieve the highest rank possible.

Crafted With Strength Crystals And Jammy Kouign-Amann

Cookie Run Kingdom Gacha Animation Art First Encounter Kouign-Amann Cookie

Kouign-Amann Cookie is one of the more recent cookies to receive a magic candy. She is one of the most underrated cookies in Cookie Run: Kingdom since she has an outstanding ability to tank attacks as well as deal large amounts of light-type damage. Her ability is focused on gaining buffs for her attack speed—for every buff she receives, she deals 75.0% extra light damage. With her regular skill, this can stack up to 10,000.0% of her attack stat, but with her magic candy, she can stack up an extra 2000.0%.

Other Light-Type Cookies

  • Clotted Cream Cookie
  • Cream Puff Cookie
  • Crème Brulée Cookie
  • Financier Cookie
  • Madeleine Cookie
  • Pure Vanilla Cookie
  • Sparkling Cookie

When using her skill, Kouign-Amann Cookie will gain the "Paladin's Way" buff, which increases damage resistance by 20.0% whenever she receives a debuff. With her magic candy active, this buff will also be applied to other light-type cookies. Plenty of light-type cookies such as Pure Vanilla, Crème Brulée, and Financier are highly valued in the meta, so using Kouign-Amann alongside them can make for a strong arena team.

Crafted With Arcane Crystals And Colorful Parfaits

If you don't have Mystic Flour Cookie or Awakened Pure Vanilla Cookie, Parfait Cookie is one of the best cookies in Cookie Run: Kingdom. Without magic candy, she is a mediocre healer, providing simple periodic healing and a buff to defense and debuff resistance. However, with it active, she can function as a lesser version of Pure Vanilla, granting her team similar HP shields from any surplus healing.

With her magic candy, she grants debuff resistance to the cookie with the highest attack for a short amount of time. The cookie with the highest attack is often prioritized by enemy cookies, so using Parfait can be quite useful in the arena for keeping your strongest cookies alive. In seasonal game modes such as the epic-only arena where the healer cookies of higher rarities aren't available, Parfait Cookie with an upgraded magic candy will be one of the best choices for your team.

Crafted With Swiftness Crystals And Twizzt! Gummies

Twizzly Gummy Cookie First Encounter Gacha Animation Cookie Run Kingdom

Twizzly Gummy is incredibly versatile and an absolute must-have for any of the three guild battle modes. When using her skill, she delivers a powerful beam of electricity, zapping her enemies and increasing her critical hit damage, as well as dealing periodic damage and nullifying HP shields. When her magic candy is active, she applies the "Current Charge" buff to allied electricity-type cookies, which increases their chance of landing critical hits. She works particularly well with cookies such as Black Lemonade Cookie and Blueberry Pie Cookie.

Crafted With Strength Crystals And Buttery Financiers

If you're in need of a strong, easily accessible tank, then Financier Cookie is absolutely the way to go. Despite being an epic cookie, you'll likely see her being used consistently in the best arena teams in Cookie Run: Kingdom. If you want her to compete with the ancient, legendary, and beast cookies often used in higher tiers, then you should make sure to heavily upgrade her magic candy.

Unless Clotted Cream Cookie is present in the team, Financier Cookie will protect the cookie with the highest attack stat, and when using her skill, provide them and herself with a small amount of healing. She'll also grant a buff to their attack, damage, and damage resistance. With her magic candy, her healing ability extends to the whole team, providing them with considerable critical hit and damage resistance. Combined with her base attack and defense being incredibly strong, Financier Cookie has one of the best magic candies in Cookie Run: Kingdom alongside Twizzly Gummy Cookie.
