Though Cookie Run: Kingdom is a gacha game, the actual gameplay is far more than just collecting different cookies. You have to make the most effective teams possible for different game modes, such as world exploration, guild battle, and the arena. Cookies can be made more powerful through promotion, ascension, awakening, or the application of toppings, beascuits, and magic candies.

The first step to making a powerful team is assembling the correct composition of cookies. Different cookies default to different spaces in the team - either the front, middle, or back. With some exceptions, you should pick tough front-liners to protect powerful ambush, ranged, or magic-type damage dealers, as well as a or healer cookie in the back. However, there are some other things you may want to consider when building a team for certain game modes.

Using Certain Combinations Of Cookies Results In Unique Buffs For The Team

Since the Grand Cookie Games update added Choco Drizzle, Pudding à la Mode, and Green Tea Mousse Cookie, Devsisters have introduced some interesting additions to team composition. When entering battles with certain combinations of cookies, the team will receive unique buffs.

Some effects can be activated without every relevant cookie being present; for example, "Silver Knighthood" only requires Silverbell Cookie and Mercurial Knight Cookie, but it can also benefit White Lily Cookie and Elder Faerie Cookie if they are also on the battlefield. Meanwhile, The Deceitful Trio always needs Candy Apple, Black Sapphire, and Shadow Milk Cookie to activate.

This doesn't include the secret teams in game modes such as Boss Rush and can be applied in any battle. Unfortunately, these combinations of cookies are few and far between in the arena. However, in some world exploration stages, guild battles, and any other battle that focuses on a specific type of damage, applying The Protector of the Golden City or The Deceitful trio can prove very useful for dealing high amounts of earth or poison damage.

Best Team Combinations For Guild Battle

Cookie Run Kingdom Beacons of Unity

For guild battles, the pre-set recommended teams are actually quite good to stick by. However, some cookies can be negotiated out for different ones, whilst others should be prioritized - as noted below. For example, the pre-set team for the Red Velvet dragon includes Matcha cookie at the start. However, the team will also have a high chance of success if she is swapped out for a cookie such as Cream Ferret Cookie or Snapdragon Cookie. Another effective choice who can help stack up more poison damage is Rebel Cookie.

Guild Battle

Recommended Cookies To Keep In Your Team

Red Velvet Dragon

(Poison Team)

  • Black Sapphire Cookie
  • Shadow Milk Cookie
  • Candy Apple Cookie
  • Prune Juice Cookie

Living Abyss

  • Blueberry Pie Cookie
  • Frost Queen Cookie
  • Pinecone Cookie

Avatar of Destiny

  • Crème Brûlée Cookie
  • Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie

Though Black Sapphire Cookie. Undoubtedly, an Avatar of Destiny team will do the best when paired with two additional cookies. The default recommended cookies are Cream Ferret cookie and Star Coral cookie, but I've found that cookies like Cream Puff Cookie also do particularly well.

Cookie Run: Kingdom has a new Secret Garden event to take part in, but apparently, all is not as sweet as it appears.

Blueberry Pie's ability, "Cursed Tome," relies on stacking up "greed" - upon reaching seven stacks of greed, she will deliver a powerful attack delivered to multiple targets. She can gain more stacks of greed when her target becomes incapacitated - meaning she is best paired with a cookie such as Frost Queen Cookie, who can freeze, stun, or put enemies to sleep. Whilst Frost Queen can quickly incapacitate licorice oozes, Blueberry Pie Cookie can swiftly take them out.

Best Team Combinations For The Arena

A Balanced Selection Of Meta Cookies

The arena meta is constantly changing, so it is hard to say who specifically is the strongest cookie - but there are several contenders. As previously stated, all good teams need at least one cookie to tank, one cookie to the team, and a large damage dealer - though some players will opt out on a ing cookie if they can quickly charge their enemy. Typically, you can't go wrong with Awakened Ancient and Beast cookies - though it's important to note that the majority of the ancients are obsolete if not awakened.

Cookie Type

Best Cookies To Choose

Defense

Elder Faerie Cookie, Crimson Coral Cookie

Burning Spice Cookie, Awakened Dark Cacao

Magic

Shadow Milk Cookie

Ranged

Wind Archer Cookie, Awakened Golden Cheese Cookie

Ambush

Rebel Cookie

Snapdragon Cookie, Cream Ferret Cookie

Healing

Awakened Pure Vanilla Cookie, Mystic Flour Cookie, Icicle Yeti Cookie

Using any combination of these cookies will lead to success in the arena as long as you strike a good balance between different roles in the team. For example, I would recommend Elder Faerie, Burning Spice, Shadow Milk, Wind Archer, and Awakened Pure Vanilla. In the arena, legendary, ancient, beast and dragon cookies are limited to four spaces, meaning you need to use at least one super epic, epic, or special cookie for the most optimized team. You need to build several different types of teams in Cookie Run: Kingdom to earn as many rewards as possible.
