There are several ways Cookie Run: Kingdom players can make their cookies stronger. Applying toppings and beascuits are a quick way of improving certain aspects of a cookie which they either lack or benefit from having enhanced, and leveling a character up using exp jellies is the most basic way of increasing their power level. However, arguably the most important resource you need when building cookies is skill powder, which is used to upgrade a cookie's main ability - this is separate from their overall level.

While cookies only need one or two topping sets in order to get buffs, you're going to need to invest a considerable amount of skill powders to fully upgrade them. Cookies use different variants of skill powder depending on their type - for example, a charge cookie such as Burning Spice Cookie will use Charge Powder. There are also three different levels of skill powders - standard, refined, and pristine. To upgrade a cookie to level 90, you need 100 standard, 110 refined, and 1,510 pristine skill powders - so how can you make sure you stock up on this resource efficiently?

The Most Consistent Way Is Through Bounties, But Collecting Choice Chests Is Good For Earning Them In Bulk

The most reliable way to collect skill powder is by completing the Labyrinth Tactician bounty. If you're a returning player, you may think that you can no longer choose which specific type of powder you get, since the default choice is random, but if you enter the bounty instead of using a time-skipper on it immediately, there's an icon with two arrows next to the rewards which will open a menu and allow you to choose the type you want. If i'm not building a specific cookie, I like using this bounty to top up the powders I'm low on.

You can check your skill powder storage at the top of the bounties page.

Random skill powder can also be purchased from the Kingom Arena Medal Shop, Seaside Market, and Rainbow Shell Gallery. You can often buy choice chests from arena shops which allow you to choose the specific powder you want. Choice Chests can be purchased from the Arena tier shop as well, but are few in supply and very expensive. I would recommend keeping a few of these in your storage without using them up, so you can quickly upgrade new cookies as they come out - this means there's no need to predict what you might need to collect beforehand.

In the Might of the Ancients, Cookie Run: Kingdom players can choose one of the five ancient cookies to obtain. Which ones are the best investments?

Occasionally, event shops will sell "Skill Powder Concentrates" which will upgrade a cookie's skill to a certain level. You should definitely make sure to snatch these up when you can, since they're very rare to come across during standard gameplay. Some World Exploration stages award skill powder upon completion, but this isn't a great way of collecting it in bulk. You can occasionally buy choice chests in the event shop, though you should only resort to this if you're desperate, as there are other things you should prioritize spending crystals on.

How To Use Skill Powders In CRK

Make Sure To Use It Sparingly

Cookie Run Kingdom Wind Archer Cookie Skill Level Up

You should only use skill powders on cookies which you intend to use frequently. Unlike toppings and topping tarts, which can be switched out, once skill powder is used up, it's gone forever. You’ll benefit from promoting cookies through earning achievements, titles, and improving bonds, but skills are only useful in battle scenarios. There’s not much harm in investing in less powerful cookies early on to get you through World Exploration and the first few ranks of the arena, but you should really focus on ancient, beast, and legendary cookies if you can help it.
