Dark Cacao is one of the five ancient cookies in Cookie Run: Kingdom. He was the third ancient cookie to be introduced, and was the first to receive an “awakened” form. He’s been a figurehead in the lore of the game since before he was playable, given he's the father of the early antagonist Dark Choco cookie.
A charge cookie who defaults to the front position, Dark Cacao is one of the few cookies that deals elemental damage, and his attacks deal dark damage, specifically. There are a lot of toppings and beascuits options you can equip him with; you'll need to choose wisely for him to live up to his potential.
Best Toppings For Dark Cacao Cookie
Solid Almonds Or Swift Chocolate

Cookie Run: Kingdom - Best Toppings & Beascuits For Candy Apple
Which toppings and beascuits should you apply to Shadow Milk Cookie's disciple, Candy Apple Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom?
When looking out for substats, focus on damage reduction, buffs to attack, and reducing his cooldown period. For an awakened Dark Cacao, Swift Chocolates are also a good choice of topping, as his attack becomes more devastating to enemies and buffs the rest of his team. He provides considerable bonuses to cookies that deal darkness type damage, meaning he works really well when paired up with cookies like his son, Dark Choco Cookie. Though these set-ups are less effective in the arena, I’ve found them to be very effective in Boss Rush or World exploration.
Best Beascuits For Dark Cacao Cookie
Try To Give Dark Cacao A Legendary Tainted Chewy Beascuit
Dark Cacao is a charge cookie, meaning he uses chewy beascuits. If you’re able to get your hands on a tainted dark chewy beascuit, then that is the best fit for him, as this will guarantee a buff of 20% to dark damage. However, any other beascuit that provides an increase to dark damage will also work very well. Since awakened Dark Cacao’s ability increases the dark damage dealt by the rest of the team, this will fully optimize his damage output.
Dark Cacao Cookie's Most Needed
- Damage Resist
- Attack Increase
- Cooldown
When choosing beascuit substats outside of dark damage, players should try to improve Dark Cacao’s damage resist ability. However, it will also be beneficial to pair him with cooldown and general attack increase buffs. Dark Cacao is one of the few examples in Cookie Run: Kingdom where paying attention to the type of damage he deals is very important. That is to say, he performs the best when he has multiple outlets of dark damage, such as from his beascuit or the cookies around him.
