If you've been playing Cookie Run: Kingdom for a while, you're probably familiar with who the most powerful cookies are. Cookies tend to be more powerful based on their rarity, meaning beast, ancient, and legendary cookies are generally the most sought-after. However, there are plenty of circumstances where these cookies cannot be used—whether it's due to team limits, or an epic-only event.
There are several cookies in CRK which are very underrated in of power—many have been overshadowed since their release, or just aren't utilized to their fullest extent. If you're in a situation where you don't have any of the usual recommended cookies on hand, you may find yourself stuck deciding who you should use in your team. Here are some cookies which aren't the most obvious picks, but can still serve as great substitutes for other cookies to help you level up in the arena and get through world exploration.

10 Clotted Cream Cookie
A Powerful Magic For New Players
With so many powerful magic cookies like Shadow Milk Cookie, many of the older magic-type characters have been pushed to the side in recent years, and Clotted Cream Cookie is no exception, having been largely forgotten since his debut. He was the first Super Epic Cookie to be released, and has since fallen behind the other cookies of his rarity, especially Crimson Coral and Elder Faerie Cookie. Though he doesn't do too well in the arena nowadays, he's still quite a solid choice for PvE.

Shadow Milk Cookie Might Have Already Changed Cookie Run: Kingdom Forever
Shadow Milk Cookie is the newest beast in Cookie Run: Kingdom. Why is he so popular, and what has his impact been on the game?
He also does quite well in team builds focused on light damage - when using his skill "Consul's Orders", he raises the light-type attack of his allies. The "light cage" debuff that he inflicts can be quite useful for countering certain buffers, since it focuses on the closest enemy to prevent them from receiving buffs. At the end of its duration, it deals a portion of "true damage" to the enemy, which is set damage in proportion to their maximum health. Though there are better options for seasoned players, Clotted Cream Cookie is a great damage dealer for newer players.
9 Linzer Cookie
An Effective Debuffer Who Does Well Against Bosses
Since she was introduced, Linzer Cookie has been a rare sight in the arena since she's more of a debuffer and damage dealer as opposed to a healer—however, she is still one of the best cookies in Cookie Run: Kingdom. When using her skill, the cookie with the highest attack will be given the "suspect" debuff, which will deal damage to them and the surrounding opponents. The debuff also decreases their defense, and applies a critical hit damage increase to her allies.
Linzer Cookie will gain stacks of "deduction," which can stack up to seven times and make the suspect debuff stronger.
Linzer Cookie is especially useful in game modes which have a focus on cookie types. If you need a certain amount of cookies to play the level, or to get a certain buff, then you can use her to increase the damage dealt by your team. She's also quite useful in PVE against bosses, since she'll always be focused on the enemy with the highest attack.
8 Parfait Cookie
A Solid Who Can Heal Your Team
Parfait Cookie is part of the second cookie legion, and was once commonplace in the arena, but now is rarely used, especially now that more music-themed cookies such as Shining Glitter Cookie and Crème Brûlée Cookie have been introduced. This is quite a shame, given that the addition of magic candies has made her a solid overall. If you don't have a decent healer on-hand or are playing in a gamemode with type restrictions, Parfait is decent for keeping the team alive.
Parfait's Magic Candy requires you to craft Colorful Parfaits in the magic laboratory. To do this, you need Purity Crystals and Milk.
When using her skill, she heals her allies and creates an HP shield which is proportionate to the amount of surplus healing they received. This is similar to one of Awakened Pure Vanilla Cookie's' "light of truth" abilities, though considerably weaker. Though lots of cookies are objectively stronger than her, as an epic cookie it's a lot easier to max her out compared to the likes of someone such as Mystic Flour, which allows her to decently compete against them in the middle levels of the arena.
7 Financier Cookie
One Of The Best Tanks In The Game
Players are slowly seeing Financier Cookie become less common in the arena in favor of the Super Epic Elder Faerie Cookie, but Financier is still quite the powerhouse, despite only being of the epic variety. Similarly to Clotted Cream Cookie, she deals light damage, making her particularly effective when paired with other light-type cookies. For a defense cookie, she is quite a heavy-hitter, and could easily replace a weaker cookie.
If she is on the same team as Clotted Cream Cookie, she will always protect and heal him with an added bonus instead of the cookie with the highest attack stat.
When using her skill, she will provide healing for herself and the cookie on her team with the highest attack. She'll also grant a large boost to attack, critical hit resistance, and damage resistance. With a magic candy, her skill becomes even more powerful, being able to heal the whole team and adding a bigger increase to damage resistance.
6 Prune Juice Cookie
Perfect For Any Poison Team
Prune Juice Cookie can be a fantastic damage dealer in poison-focused builds. He is particularly effective when paired up with a character such as Black Sapphire Cookie in Cookie Run Kingdom, who increases the poison damage dealt by his allies. When using his skill, Prune Juice Cookie throws a giant poison bottle at his enemies, which inflicts poison damage, sticky goo, the poison debuff, and summons prune jellies.

All Cookie Run: Kingdom Codes (March 2025)
In Cookie Run: Kingdom, players will want to use the latest codes to build their kingdom and recruit more cookies to jumpstart their path to victory.
Teams based off poison damage are some of the best compositions for the Red Velvet Dragon guild battle. Elemental damage is an afterthought to most players, but that completely negates the potential of cookies like Prune Juice. He's still pretty decent outside of synergizing well with certain cookies, but he's almost crucial for getting a good guild battle rank.
5 Twizzly Gummy Cookie
The Best Cookie To Use In Guild Battle
Twizzly Gummy Cookie is another character who was beloved upon release, but now seems to be used less. This is very surprising, given that she does well against all three guild battle bosses, and can also be fantastic in PvP. She has quite a straightforward skill, zapping her enemies with a powerful beam of electricity which nullifies HP shields—I've found that this skill is quite useful against powerful healers, and can allow your team to quickly charge your opponents if you manage to significantly lower her cooldown. She also has a magic candy which buffs other electricity-type cookies.
4 Fettuccine Cookie
A Defense Cookie Who Is Incredibly Hard To Get Past
Fettuccine Cookie is another surprisingly powerful frontline defense cookie. I've found myself underestimating her in the arena quite a few times and ending up with a loss. She's one of the few cookies that can "taunt" their enemies, which can be used in various different tactics to stunlock them. After using her skill, her opponents become vulnerable to earth damage, which makes her attacks more effective, but also means she pairs well with cookies such as Golden Cheese.
Fettuccine Cookie can be very tricky to defeat when at a high level, because her skill will also heal her and increase her damage resistance for 10 seconds. Even if an enemy does manage to chip through her HP, her damage resistance increases as she loses her health.
She can be very tricky to defeat when at a high level, because her skill will also heal her and increase her damage resistance for 10 seconds. Even if an enemy does manage to chip through her HP, her damage resistance increases as she loses her health. If she is defeated, then she will briefly become immortal for five seconds at the expense of having lower attack speed. This is a little similar to the effect granted by the Insignia of the Indomitable Knights Treasure.
3 Kouign-Amann Cookie
An Insane Damage Dealer If Given A Chance
Kouign-Amann Cookie is a light-type defense cookie. Though she's not very useful at lower levels outside PvE, she can deal some incredible damage with an upgraded magic candy. She performs the best when in a team focused on attack speed. Her skill raises the speed of the cookies with the highest attack speed stat, stops them from receiving speed debuffs, and increases the damage dealt by other light-type cookies. Her damage will increase depending on the amount of speed buffs she has on herself—this starts at 75.0%, but can stack up to 10,000.0%.
2 Tea Knight Cookie
A Strong Tank Who Becomes Harder To Kill As More Cookies Are Defeated
It's difficult to build Tea Knight Cookie correctly, but if you can, then he can easily compete against several of the strongest cookies in Cookie Run: Kingdom. He's not particularly useful in the more difficult PvE episodes, since he's at his most powerful after other cookies in his team have been defeated, though he can really shine in the arena. His ability "Wrath of the Commander" triggers when he loses an ally, and this effect harshly raises his attack and defense, and cannot be dispelled. If he has a magic candy active, then he will instead receive two stacks.

You’re Probably Forgetting These Ways Of Raising Your Cookies’ Power Level In Cookie Run: Kingdom
After reaching a cookie's maximum level, you may realize their power level is still low. If this is the case, you might be missing something in CRK.
Though it will not allow him to reach the maximum stacks of Wrath stacks, a tactic which usually works well for me is to pair Tea Knight with a safeguarded cookie like Snapdragon Cookie. This allows him to keep a certain amount of his buffs without completely losing any . His magic candy also allows him to stun his enemies and deal a portion of true damage towards them, dealing additional damage if the enemy is immune to being stunned. After he defeats an enemy, he will heal himself and his cooldown will be lowered.
1 Rebel Cookie
A Shockingly Underused Cookie Considering His Versatility And Power
Rebel Cookie is not very often seen in the arena, which is very odd considering how he is objectively the best ambush cookie in the game. It may be because players don't expect him to be too powerful by looking at his design, but it is still well-thought-out, and he definitely deserves his epic cookie status, despite some fans insinuating that he should be rare. He's one of the few cookies who deal wind-type damage (delivering a powerful attack when he uses his skill), and decreasing his enemies' defense to make them vulnerable to all types of elemental damage.
Rebel Cookie's Debuffs
- -14.0% Defense For 10 Seconds
- +60% Damage From All Element Types
- +78.9% Damge To Defense-Reduced Cookies
- +315.4% Damage To Defense-Reduced Non-Cookies
So, even though he deals wind damage himself, he's very useful when paired up with cookies of any other element. He also increases the chance that his allies will land critical hits, and grants them HP shields. After his skill is finished, he summons two decoys which can take damage instead of him. He is the only ambush cookie to be a front-liner, so this helps him and the rest of the team to stay alive. Rebel Cookie is one of the most versatile and deadly characters to use in Cookie Run: Kingdom, and is very underutilized.
