What To Know About Countdown
A Murder Occurs In Broad Daylight
Countdown follows a suspicious murder in broad daylight. That leads LAPD officer Mark Meachum (Ackles) to be recruited into a secret task force of undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement to investigate. However, as the truth of a more sinister plot becomes clearer, the team has to overcome their conflicting personal agendas to unite and save a city of millions. The first installment will consist of 13 episodes.
It's unclear what the new project means for Ackles' characters on Tracker and The Boys, though he could potentially continue to make guest appearances on both depending on the scheduling.
Although no other casting details have been revealed, it's known that the project will be executive produced by Haas who also serves as showrunner. Amazon MGM Studios is producing Countdown, which is being described as a star vehicle for Ackles. The actor is a television veteran, spending 15 seasons as Supernatural's Dean Winchester, in addition to earlier roles on Dark Angel and Smallville.

Only Supernatural Season 16 Can Fix The CW's Past 2 Canceled Spinoffs
If Supernatural season 16 really did happen, it would not only bring back the iconic paranormal series, but could also revive two failed spinoffs.
It's unclear what the new project means for Ackles' characters on Tracker and The Boys, though he could potentially continue to make guest appearances on both depending on scheduling. There have also been recent comments about Supernatural season 16 and whether that could be revived but nothing is confirmed. For now, Ackles is bringing his veteran experience to Countdown.
