A new rumors of a new Crash game in the recent past.
The Crash Bandicoot IP has been brought back to the limelight in recent years, largely as a result of overwhelming fan demand. Activision released the widely successful Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in 2018, and followed that up with a remaster of the revered karting spin-off game Crash Team Racing in 2019. This boom in popularity has led the publisher to refocus on Crash as a brand, and there has even been a leak saying that Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex Remastered is coming in 2020. However, there has been no confirmation of a new Crash game this year - until now.

Strangely, there has been no official announcement from Activision or King about the release of Crash Bandicoot Mobile, but that will probably change in the very near future.
According to the store description, the game is "a new kind of Crash adventure" in which Cortex tries to enslave the multiverse using mutagenic henchmen. Crash and Coco return to Wumpa Island and face off with fan-favorite villains like Dingodile in linear runs. Gameplay involves jumping, sliding and spinning through classic levels, discovering hidden paths, and defeating bosses in battle runs. The other major component of Crash Bandicoot Mobile is Coco's Base, where the player unlocks and upgrades key buildings to create an arsenal of weapons like "serums, bombs and even rayguns." This requires ingredients and parts, which are gathered through collection runs.
Crash Bandicoot Mobile certainly isn't the big Crash Bandicoot game on PS5 that fans have been hoping for, but it's no surprise that Activision is bringing the IP to the mobile market. Crash Bandicoot is a good fit for the infinite runner genre, what with the series' history of linear levels and chase sequences. Let's just hope that King's habit of aggressively monetizing their titles with microtransactions doesn't ruin this game as well.
