Cross season 2 gets a surprising filming update ahead of the season 1 premiere. Set to arrive on Prime Video in just a few weeks, the eight-episode first installment is based on the popular James Patterson novels. It centers on the titular character, Alex Cross, a detective and forensic psychologist who is uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims. Aldis Hodge, known for his role as Alec Hardison in the Leverage television franchise, in addition to his ing turn in Black Adam, leads the cast and produces the adaptation.

Speaking at the recent New York Comic Con with Screen Rant's Tatiana Hullender, ahead of Cross' Prime Video premiere on November 14, series creator Ben Watkins mentions in ing that season 2 is already filmed. Watkins mentioned that he hopes audiences see something they like with the first episodes since the second installment is already completed. Read the quote below:

It's Been A Long Road For The Adaptation

The latest Cross adaptation has taken time to reach audiences. It was first announced in January 2020. Now, almost five years later, it is finally making its way to audiences. However, as a sign of confidence, bolstered by Patterson's positive comments about the series, Cross was given a two-season renewal. In of cost-saving and scheduling, filming the seasons back-to-back would make sense. Slow Horses, on Apple TV+, takes a similar approach.

Also, like Slow Horses, Prime Video may feel assured that Cross will grow into a hit. Similar series like Reacher, Jack Ryan, and The Terminal List have all caught on with audiences. All three are based on popular novels, with a formidable male protagonist at the center. Reacher, in particular, has become one of Prime Video's biggest hits.
