A lot of great games released in 2022, from juggernauts like Elden Ring to breakout hits like Tunic, but few were as unique as cute life simulation titles. The game has continued to receive patches and updates since its release, and the newest one might be the most exciting yet.

A tweet from the official PlayStation d the release of a co-op update for Cult of the Lamb on August 12 along with sharing a PlayStation Blog post that gives more details on the changes. Called Unholy Alliance, the co-op update casts a second player as the Goat to work alongside the Lamb.

The new information comes courtesy of Devolver, publishers of the indie game developed by Massive Monster. Along with the PlayStation 4 and 5 release, the update should be available on other platforms like PC, Switch, and Xbox systems.

Unholy Alliance Is Adding A Lot To Cult Of The Lamb

The New Update Covers Some Ground

Unholy Alliance does more than just throw a second player into the Cult of the Lamb experience, adding some new features and possibilities to enhance the co-op. Cult of the Lamb minigames will be getting a refresh with two-player versions. Among a selection of new relics and tarot cards to unlock, some are designed to take advantage of co-op possibilities.

Cult of the Lamb's Tarot Cards is invaluable during the crusades. Unlocking the best cards early will ease the difficulty of the Lamb's adventure.

Single-player Cult of the Lamb campaigns should also be getting a boost in the update. New follower traits could shake up the management aspects, and sending them on missions can change their perspective for better or worse. Two new structures are ing the game in the form of a nursery and the Knucklebones arena. The former makes raising children more convenient, while the latter allows the Lamb to duke it out with a follower of their choice once a day to level up the follower.

Not every Unholy Alliance change might be as obvious, and the PlayStation Blog post promises "new quest and quality of life improvements" as part of the package. Regardless of which element sounds the most attractive, there's definitely a lot to look forward to. Cult of the Lamb was great when it released in 2022, and the new update should make it better than ever before.
