Cuphead: Delicious Last Course DLC features a boss on the island's east side named Mortimer Freeze. A snowy area with a stone bridge leads to an igloo where Mortimer Freeze can be found. The Mortimer Freeze boss fight consists of three stages with various types of attacks in each stage. Cuphead players aiming to take on the frigid boss fight will need a few tips to avoid his attacks and strike back efficiently.
It may take a few attempts to be fully aware of Mortimer Freeze's attack patterns, just like other boss fights like the Chess Knight in Cuphead. However, once Cuphead players reach Mortimer Freeze's lair, they will face the boss in an arena surrounded by snowmen. Mortimer Freeze, donning a purple wizard's outfit, takes three forms during the boss fight. The first Mortimer Freeze form players must defeat is his flying wizard form, followed by his snowman form on the ground, then finally a snowflake form.
Players must deal with attacks from all angles and always stay aware of Mortimer's position to finish the battle. The first phase includes aerial attacks while Mortimer Freeze is flying and hovering in the air. Next, the fight transitions to the ground, while the last fight has players in the air jumping along with rotating platforms while attacking Mortimer. If players keep their distance from Mortimer's attacks and swiftly counterattack, they won't be buried in this Cuphead graveyard where a secret area can be unlocked.

The first phase includes three aerial moves that Mortimer Freeze will use to attack players.
• First attack: Summoning four ice minions who walk toward the player to do damage. These minions can be destroyed with just a few hits.
• Second attack: Throwing cards out of a crystal ball that go in a straight line toward the player. Pink card can be parried.
• Third attack: stopping in midair and smacking an orange whale into the ground. There is a gap between the wind-up of the swing and the impact so that players can dodge it more easily than many attacks from other bosses like Sheriff Esther Winchester in Cuphead.

The second phase involves Mortimer coating himself in the snow to turn into a snowman. This phase adds new attacks to Mortimer's moveset.
• First attack: Mortimer rolls or jumps from one side of the stage to the other. Players can jump over the roll more easily by staying in the center of the stage as preparation.
• Second attack: Mortimer turns into a fridge and shoots out ice cubes that break into smaller pieces on impact with the ground. Frozen treats also shoot toward the player one at a time. Dodge and jump over the cube while shooting the treats.
• Third attack: Mortimer stabs the ground, and four blades shoot up one by one. Ridges on the ground form to warn players where the blades will pop up. These concurrent, difficult attacks are part of what makes Cuphead: Delicious Last Course an extra-strength DLC.
Mortimer Freeze Boss Fight: Beating The Final Phase in In Cuphead: Delicious Last Course
The third phase brings players up to a set of rotating platforms while Mortimer flies around inside a snowflake. This adds three new moves to Mortimer's repertoire.
• First attack: Mortimer shoots buckets that transform into three moons flying in crescent patterns. Staying near Mortimer during this attack gives the most leeway for dodging.
• Second attack: Mortimer shoots out his eyeball that explodes a vertical beam of light every few seconds. Jump over the eye as it floats and dodge the beams.
Third attack: Mortimer flies out of the snowflake and circles the platforms before returning to the snowflake. Four snow cones fly toward the center of the screen before shooting back outward. Sparkles indicate where the snow cones will spawn in Cuphead: Delicious Last Course.
