In Cyberpunk 2077, there are several celebrity cameos hidden around Night City. With how big the map is, it's no surprise that many players may miss the amount of secrets hidden, including these appearances. These cameos include not only traditional celebrities, but also game developers and well-known influencers from around the community. These celebrity inclusions built a lot of hype ahead of Cyberpunk 2077's release, so it would be a shame for players to miss them in-game.
When it comes to Cyberpunk 2077's celebrity cameos, most players first thought will be about Keanu Reeves, whose character was one of the most predominant features of the game's trailers. Johnny Silverhand (Reeves' character) is a direct portrayal of Keanu, and is a main character throughout the storyline. Not only is his voice present in the character, but also his movement and facial features are spot-on when compared to his virtual counterpart. In-game, players have the choice to help him take down Night City's leadership, or ignore him and try to get him out of their bodies as quickly as possible.
However, Keanu Reeves isn't the only notable celebrity to appear in Cyberpunk 2077. Singer-songwriter Grimes also appears in Night City in a side mission called "Violence." Players will have to reach level 20 before receiving access to this mission and meeting Grimes' in-game character, Lizzy Wizzy. When it comes to the gaming community, there are a host of well-known influencers with cameos in Cyberpunk 2077 as well, including Twitch streamer CohhCarnage. His character, Garry the Prophet, is tracked down during a side job in Little China, "Watson."
Other Streamers & Game Creators In Cyberpunk 2077
YouTubers Jesse Cox and Alanah Pearce also make an appearance in their own Cyberpunk 2077 side jobs. To meet Alanah's character, Lana, players will have to choose the Nomad lifepath and do a side job called "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'." Jesse's character's side mission is titled "The Burning Desire." Other than content creators, Hideo Kojima (creator of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding) and Mike Pondsmith (creator of Cyberpunk) also make cameos in the game. Kojima is found in the Act 1 mission "The Heist," while Pondsmith is simply a voice on a certain radio station featured in Cyberpunk 2077.
When it comes to full character cameos, that's about it in all of Night City. However, some players may not notice that the many in-game ads around the map sometimes include different content creators. Negaoryz, an American tabletop RPG streamer, is showcased in a Sandblast ad that is seen when going through the city. ArcadeBulls, a streamer from the Czech Republic, is featured in the Meta Beast ad. Finally, JeanBaptisteShow, a French streamer, is seen in a CHEAP-AS-CHIP ad.
While this is all the cameos currently showcased, players should always be on the lookout for more familiar faces. Many CD Projekt Red developers' appearances are used in-game for different characters, so it would make sense if players see a familiar AI walking along the streets of Night City. Searching for all of these cameos can be a fun side-mission on its own, and might be challenging for some players. These cameos show that there's much more than what's on the surface of Cyberpunk 2077.
