What Cyberpunk 2077 - The Board Game Is

& Why You Should Consider Funding

Cyberpunk 2077 - The Board Game is an immersive, expansive tabletop game for fans of the Cyberpunk setting both old and new. Designed for one to four players, it's set in an alternate universe from the video game, in which iconic characters like V, Jackie Welles, Judy Álvarez, and Panam Palmer seek out a hidden Arasaka weapon across 13 different missions, each of which leads them closer to the heart of corporate secrecy. But that's just the base version of the game - in the expanded version, unlocked in a series of stretch goals, there are even more options for tabletop adventures in the Cyberpunk universe.

Through various expansions, players can add allies, enemies, missions, and areas to the board, unlocking additional bonuses from characters like Delamain, Johnny Silverhand's Relic, or a stray cat. Expansions also offer a wider array of characters from the Cyberpunk universe, including familiar faces like Goro Takemura, T-Bug and Alt Cunningham. Players will also face bosses like Chase Coley and Sandayu Oda, or take on new missions that reveal the deepest, darkest corners of Night City.

This is the second board game to be based directly on Cyberpunk 2077, the first being 2022's Gangs of Night City.

The Standard Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 - The Board Game currently costs $79 via Gamefound; it's unknown if that price will go up after launch. It does, however, include many of the campaign's standard stretch goals, which means that players who purchase it now will receive tons of additional content (that will later be sold separately) for free. This allows them to save almost $150, compared to purchasing all the expansions separately.

The Deluxe Edition, however, costs $139, and includes a wide variety of deluxe stretch goal bonuses for a greater variety of characters, missions, and enemies. Bundled in are thicker paperboard versions of map tiles and mission components, alongside a wide variety of plastic miniatures, base rings, health counters, and bullet-shaped dice. Players can also purchase the All-In bundle to receive the Deluxe Edition, all its bonuses, four different game expansions, and an exclusive Garry the Prophet add-on.

Backers are expected to receive their rewards in December 2025, and there are just over two days left of the campaign as of September 18, so it's an excellent time to get in at the ground floor. Further details of the actual gameplay is likely to be revealed closer to the Cyberpunk 2077 board game's launch.
