Although a lot of reviewers have been hailing a Day One patch to fix most bugs, it's unreasonable to assume every single problem will be fixed before the game launches worldwide. While some bugs and glitches in Cyberpunk 2077 are minor, there are quite a few game-breaking bugs that are far worse than others.
In early reviews for Cyberpunk 2077, almost every reviewer noted the game's many bugs and glitches. From clothing and weapons that disappeared to floating guns and protagonist V's voice changing randomly in cutscenes, the reported issues have been corroborated enough to give them merit. However, quite a few bugs in Cyberpunk 2077 are game-breaking, meaning progress is completely stalled and the only hope of fixing them is by restarting the game completely.
Several of the reported game-breaking bugs in Cyberpunk 2077 stall progress randomly. These issues include invisible walls that block players, doors that won't open when they should, and players being trapped at random points in Night City. Certain objects and areas can't be climbed, even when it's necessary for story-related quests, and NPCs have been reported to spawn in places that keep players from completing objectives. Again, the only known fix for these problems is to turn off the game completely and restart Cyberpunk 2077 from the last save.
Game-Breaking Bugs In Cyberpunk 2077
In of story and quests in Cyberpunk 2077, there are even more game-breaking bugs to worry about. Some story quests just never start correctly, and incorrect dialogue choices may appear and make it impossible to build a character the way players want. These incorrect dialogue choices can also stall progress at certain points in the game, making them additionally frustrating.
CD Projekt Red has blamed some of the glitches on players running the game on PC without using the proper Cyberpunk 2077 PC requirements, but with no console editions of the game available to reviewers, it's hard to know whether or not these issues will be there as well, even with a day one patch. Perhaps the worst game-breaking bug in Cyberpunk 2077 is that bosses -and especially the final boss - can freeze midway through a fight. Some players have been able to simply defeat the boss anyway, but others have had to restart their games once again to advance the story.
These game-breaking issues are by far the worst bugs and glitches in Cyberpunk 2077 which have been reported so far. Add all of these problems to the epileptic seizure trigger controversy surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, and it's been a tough launch week for CD Projekt Red. The studio is promising many of these issues will be fixed before launch, although it remains to be seen how many problems will persist.
