Despite the fact that fan and critic reception to different cybernetic enhancements are all very well done. These aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 can arguably make the experience worthwhile.
By far one of the more fascinating aspects of the game though is its well-developed side quests. Quite a few of the quests boil down to simple "Drive your car here and shoot everyone you see" type directions, but there are also many others that manage to be extremely special. By introducing very engaging writing to these quests, exhilarating gameplay, or even downright bizarre situations many of them wind up being just as or even more interesting than the main quest. This guide shows players the best and strangest side quests in Cyberpunk 2077 as well as where to find them.
Cyberpunk 2077 - The Hunt
In order to receive this quest players will first have to complete "I Fought the Law" and wait 24 hours before they will be ed by River Ward again. Players will then be able to meet River at the marker this mission gives you at 7 PM to start it. The rest of the quest is about V helping River track down his nephew who has gone missing under mysterious circumstances. This quest allows players to do some very fun things like break into an ND building, do some Arkham Knight-style detective work to find clues, and even analyze Brain Dance footage to find Randy. This mission feels like it could come right out of a well-written crime novel.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Violence
After completing Search and Destroy the player will receive a message from an unknown person asking them to meet at No-Tell Motel in Watson. Once here the player will find Lizzy Wizzy who asks them to uncover information about her boyfriend Liam being unfaithful. This seems like a pretty normal quest at first, but by doing some digging at Liam's bar the player is able to uncover a much more insidious plot. This mission shows off some of the more messed up aspects of cybernetic enhancements while also giving players front row seats to Grimes' excellent voice work as Lizzy.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Stadium Love
This is an incredibly fun quest because depending on how the player responds during dialogue options will determine how the quest is completed. Players will be told to visit the 6th Street Party in Rancho Coronado in order to begin this quest. If players want to they can provoke the leader of 6th Street and start a shootout with the group. The more fun option though is to in on the shooting competition that the group is taking part in. This is a fun little diversion and by winning players can also earn a great new weapon.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Burning Desire
By far one of the more ridiculous missions throughout Cyberpunk 2077, but more than worth it to watch the insanity of the whole thing. To start this mission players will need to head to the marker that is located in Little China. Once here there will be a pantsless guy bent over crying while he holds his crotch. The man, Jesse, explains that one of his implants is malfunctioning and he needs to see a Ripperdoc as soon as possible. The rest of the mission is the player trying to get Jesse to the hospital as he screams in the enger seat.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Machine Gun
This is one of the very few missions in the game that players probably won't want to complete because doing so will cause them to lose one of the best weapons available. They will be able to start this mission by going to the objective point in Vista Del Ray. Once here players will come across a dead person with a strange-looking gun nearby. This gun is Skippy, a talking smart pistol that has very impressive stats and scales to the player's level. Not only is Skippy a good weapon, but he is also absolutely hilarious. Those who want to keep him forever shouldn't return Skippy to his original owner.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Chippin' In
Players who want to learn more about Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand will not want to miss this mission, especially because completing it also rewards them with Johnny's signature pistol as well. To begin this quest the player will first need to complete Search and Destroy. When this is over with Johnny will appear and have a short conversation with V, and then V will out. Upon waking Johnny will ask the player to allow him to control their body so he can get revenge on Adam Smasher. Players then just have to go to Afterlife and talk to Johnny to begin the quest. The rest of the quest the player will get to play as Johnny himself as he pursues revenge, but along the way they make several pit stops to buy a few drinks, get a tattoo, and other fun activities before taking going after Adam. Players will also unlock Johnny's car on top of the pistol when the mission has been completed.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Queen of the Highway
The Queen of the Highway mission is a pretty major thing in Cyberpunk 2077 because it literally features every single aspect of good mission structure. It has a solid plotline, allows the player to romance an NPC, is chock full of non-stop action, and can even have a large impact on the final ending of the game depending on the player's actions. In order to begin this quest player's will have to have completed all of Panam's other quests first and then to speak to her to begin this final part. By completing this mission and romancing Panam players will officially align themselves with the Nomads and unlock the All Along the Watchtower ending of the game. The best part of this mission though is that players get to control the Basilisk, which is basically an unstoppable hover tank.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Sinnerman
It is hard to describe this mission as either good or bad but is by far the most memorable and disturbing mission in the entirety of Cyberpunk 2077. Players can acquire this mission after completing Life During Wartime, which then allows them to follow the quest marker to Arroyo. Once here they can start what seems like a very simple quest to tail a police vehicle. By the end of the mission though players are introduced to a man named Joshua who is a death row inmate. Joshua has recently found God and wants the player to help him reach forgiveness from his victim's family for his actions. Rather than just apologizing though Joshua believes that the only way for him to be forgiven is to record a Brain Dance of him being... crucified. The player then has to decide whether to talk Joshua out of this or be an active participant in his crucifixion. This mission is dark and strange from beginning to end, and those who play it will never be able to forget.
Cyberpunk 2o77 can be played on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
