CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 still has a lot of problems, and probably should not have released in such a state.

Releasing games with large amounts of bugs and glitches is nothing new for the video game industry, but it was the way CDPR hid the lesser versions of Cyberpunk 2077 which really upset players. Video game critics and reviewers were only allowed access to the PC version of Cyberpunk before launch, and the company did not properly communicate (or even attempt to show) how much different the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game were to what was being publicly displayed, despite millions of people pre-ordering it on last-gen consoles.

CDPR apologized for the state of the game and said it would honor refunds for anyone who wanted them, promising at the same time that updates and hotfixes are coming to make Cyberpunk 2077 more playable. This led to many people ing Sony and asking them for a refund, which Sony at first denied. It appeared like CDPR did not clear their statements with Sony before saying refunds would be possible - but then, roughly a day later, Sony announced anyone who purchased the game digitally would be able to get a refund after all, and that Cyberpunk 2077 would be removed from PSN.

How To Get A Refund For Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 Rubble PlayStation 4 Refund

To get a refund for Cyberpunk 2077, s need to visit the PlayStation website and sign in to confirm they own a copy of the game. The website states "Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution." There is no immediate indication of what payment methods or financial institutions are not eligible for a refund, but the website also says they are offering it because "SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction," something fans clearly have not experienced with Cyberpunk 2077.

CDPR has since confirmed this agreement with Sony and stated that physical editions of Cyberpunk 2077 are still being sold. For players who want to hold on to their copies of the game, a large update for Cyberpunk 2077 is planned to release in just a few days, and more patches and hotfixes will be rolling out in both January and February of 2021. Right now it is currently unknown what that means for Cyberpunk's planned free DLC and multiplayer components, but for the time being it looks like CDPR is focusing on damage control and making sure everyone who is still playing Cyberpunk 2077 is having the best experience possible.
