Will Other Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Actors Return In New Jedi Order?
So far, only Ridley is confirmed for Star Wars: New Jedi Order. This makes sense considering that the film is said to still be in its early development as the narrative tackles her adventures leading a generation of Jedi — something that Luke Skywalker failed spectacularly to do in-between the original and sequel trilogy. Plot details are still scant at the moment, but one would be hard-pressed to find anyone who would argue that this is the best way to move the character's arc forward.
For context, all three primary characters in the Star Wars threequel survived the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Both Finn and Poe Dameron were instrumental in the defeat of Emperor Palpatine and the First Order. Given this, it makes sense that fans are also clamoring for their return. For what it's worth, the trio had great chemistry which wasn't really focused on in the said films. Lucasfilm has a way to rectify that by reuniting Finn and Poe back. Granted that there are technical reasons that could be hindering them from coming back at this point, but narratively, it would be fairly easy for John Boyega and Oscar Isaac to come back in Star Wars: New Jedi Order.
With three new films announced, including a The Mandalorian movie helmed by Dave Filoni, Lucasfilm and Disney are clearly revitalizing Star Wars' big screen presence following the underwhelming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It's safe to expect that as filming for Star Wars: New Jedi Order nears, more details about it will come, including whether Finn and Poe will be in it.
