Few anime in 2025 have as much hype behind them as Dandadan season 2, and a new trailer gives fans good reason to believe the new season will meet or exceed fans' wildest expectations. The season looks to pick up right where season 1 ended, meaning this season will see Okarun and Momo deal with the tremendously powerful Evil Eye, a threat greater and more personal than anything the duo has faced before.

Posted by Dandadan's official X , the teaser shows a great deal of the purple-tinged action at the heart of the season. Season 2 will see Momo and Okarun face off against Momo's childhood friend, Jiji, as he is possessed by the Evil Eye yokai. In addition to Science Saru's gorgeous animation in the trailer, the post also confirmed the anime's July 3rd release date, giving fans a concrete date to look forward to.

The Threat Posed By The Evil Eye Yokai Will Have Far-Reaching Implications

With season 2 of Dandadan adapting the rest of the Cursed House arc began by season 1 in addition to the subsequent Evil Eye arc and at least part of the Kaiju arc from the manga, fans have very good reason to be excited. Part of the strength of both the Cursed House arc and the Evil Eye arc is that they introduced Momo's former childhood friend, Jiji. Jiji was only just introduced at the very end of the anime's first season, but has become a core cast member of the manga, meaning fans are hotly anticipating seeing more of him in season 2.

Given Momo's complicated feelings about Jiji, and what those feelings could mean for her burgeoning relationship with Okarun, season 2 promises a conflict that is a little more personal. Fans get to see that play out spectacularly in the new trailer, with Okarun and Jiji doing battle while both being possessed by their respective Yokai. The animation looks gorgeous, too, showing that Science Saru will continue doing the source material justice.
