After James Bond's death in No Time To Die, the question of what Daniel Craig will do next is huge, and 2022 SDCC speculation offered a different, but no less intriguing question. According to Archer's executive producers Matt Thompson and Casey Willis, Craig visited their studio and shared his familiarity with the animated sitcom. The showrunners' interview with IGN further revealed prior attempts to hire Craig for a cameo but sadly the 007 star was too busy filming Bond to star in Archer. However, if there is a chance for him to appear in Archer season 13, his comedic chops and spy movie credentials would make the cameo perfect. Archer is a spy comedy that takes obvious inspiration from the saga of James Bond, so he would be the most fitting choice for the clever sitcom's next guest star.

How Daniel Craig Could Appear In Archer

Daniel Craig as James Bond

Despite the obvious parallels between James Bond and Archer, given their jobs, it's actually Rian Johnson's Knives Out that proves why Daniel Craig should cameo on Archer. As Benoit Blanc, the former 007 star proved he could capture the right dry humor even in serious or dark scenarios. His performance as Detective Blanc is the comedic relief of Knives Out and miraculously never takes away from the morbid narrative of the film. His sardonic humor can also be occasionally glimpsed in James Bond, even though his 007 movie era was perhaps the bleakest of any Bond. In contrast, Archer can finally give him a chance to show off his comedy skills in a format that retains his cool demeanor as a 007-type spy.

After the necessary brand focus that comes with playing 007, Daniel Craig could perhaps be expected to branch out into more diverse genres now that he's free. No Time To Die shows off Craig's masterful talent and the cool factor he brought to Bond, but a cameo like the one he can have on Archer would grant him an opportunity to show off his quick-witted dry humor in a fresh format. The 007 star has proven himself a worthy Bond but now the perfect next step he can take in his career is to go where he has expressed interest and cameo on Archer.
