While it is not clear who will be playing Muse in Daredevil: Born Again season 2's story, as will another who has not been glimpsed since the premiere of season 1. Despite this villain's absence and seven-year-old MCU story, Daredevil: Born Again episode 4 provides them with their Marvel codename for the first time.

The villain in question is Bullseye, otherwise known as Benjamin Poindexter in the MCU. Daredevil: Born Again episode 1 opened with the shocking return of Poindexter, with the villain killing Foggy Nelson in retribution for his incarceration at the end of Daredevil season 3. Since then, the character has not appeared given the one-year time jump and his return to prison. Nonetheless, Daredevil: Born Again marks the character's seventh year as part of the MCU after his debut in 2018's Daredevil season 3.

While Daredevil: Born Again episode 3 ups the ante with a shocking twist despite Benjamin Poindexter's absence, Bullseye's return may be inevitable.

In those seven years, the character has never been referenced by his villain name, Bullseye, from Marvel Comics. That is until Daredevil: Born Again episode 4. This episode features the return of Frank Castle/The Punisher, who goads Matt into reliving the anger and guilt he feels over Foggy's death. During this sequence, Frank refers to Poindexter as Bullseye, marking the first time the villain has received his iconic moniker in the franchise, seven years after his debut.

Concerning why Bullseye is called such in Marvel Comics, it comes primarily from his deadly accuracy with any projectile. However, it also links to his origins. In the comics, Poindexter is shown growing up as an avid baseball player. In one game, an opposing team member calls him a coward, prompting Poindexter to throw the ball at his head while muttering "bullseye." The opposing player dies, leading to Poindexter's downward spiral as the villain, who was only named as such for the first time in Daredevil: Born Again episode 4.
