Bullseye has been an incredible force in Foggy Nelson's death in episode 1, Bullseye has been locked away in prison. However, developments in episode 8 have seen the character play a major role in the season's story, in ways that set up some important conflicts for the season finale.
Wilson Bethel is a strong performer, and it is no surprise that he was considered to play Captain America in the MCU. However, it is as Benjamin Poindexter that the actor shines. Following intense and interesting developments for the character in season 3 of Netflix's Daredevil, the iconic foe has become perhaps even more important to the follow-up series. Much of this seems to be setting up the origin story of the character Bullseye as he exists in the comics, and this is being done in a refreshing and interesting way.
Bullseye's Prison Escape Raises The Question Of Whether The Villain Has Had A Power Upgrade
Dex's Spit Attack Doesn't Align With His Abilities
Episode 8 of Daredevil: Born Again featured several intense moments between Matt and Dex in prison. Matt demanded to know who hired Dex to kill Foggy, but Dex refused to tell him. Dex promised that he would give up the information, but only if Matt could get him released from prison. This led to Matt violently beating Dex against a table, a move that may have been more intentional than it seemed. This loosened Dex's tooth, which he was able to spit at a guard to begin his escape plan.

Why Everything Goes Blue For Bullseye In Daredevil: Born Again
Daredevil: Born Again episode 8 gradually transforms Wilson Bethel's Benjamin Poindexter into Bullseye as the villain engages his abilities.
It is a very difficult task to spit out one's tooth so that it harms someone, but Dex does exactly that during this tense scene. By spitting it in the guard's eye, he begins the process of breaking free, which twists into a more ordinary physical struggle and culminates in Dex’s escape. This act does not align with Dex's training, where his marksmanship was honed through baseball. There has been nothing in either Daredevil series to suggest that projectile spitting is a talent that Dex has. Following this, many have begun to speculate if Dex's abilities are now enhanced.
Daredevil Season 3's Ending Means Giving Bullseye A Power Upgrade In Daredevil: Born Again Would Make Sense
Netflix's Daredevil Suggested Dex Would Finally Become Bullseye
Dex appeared in the Netflix Daredevil series before he had truly become the iconic villain Bullseye, although the ending of that series seemed to suggest his transformation into the familiar character would occur shortly after, even if there weren't plans to bring back Bullseye until season 5. Dex was last seen about to undergo an operation that used a rare metal called Cogmium to fix his broken spine. This operation was teased with a look at the Bullseye symbol, suggesting that this might do something more than just fix his body, and could even enhance it.
Cogmium seems to be similar to the newly revealed Adamantium, which is how Bullseye is enhanced in the comics, and has since been integrated into Dex's skeleton. Following Bullseye's survival after falling off a building in episode 1, it seems that his abilities may be even greater than they were in the Netflix show. With this additional strength and a reinforced skeleton, the series may have added in additional abilities relating to fighting with items other than weapons, such as his own teeth. This would help to make Bullseye quite a bit more powerful than he was in the Netflix series.
How Giving Bullseye Powers Could Be The Best For The MCU's Future
Enhanced Abilities Would Allow Bullseye To Be A Greater Marvel Threat
The Netflix Marvel series were always theoretically linked to the MCU, but they stayed much more grounded, especially Daredevil. However, with a more proper integration into the larger universe with Daredevil: Born Again, powers and science fiction features are much more common. White Tiger's amulet was the first of many of these details to be explored, and it makes sense that the franchise is now leaning toward turning Bullseye into the comic book iteration of the character, complete with abilities.
Bullseye's marksmanship skills have been incredible in the comics, to the point that he is able to use almost any object as a projectile weapon. This part of Dex's enhancement appears to be occurring in the Marvel series, and this would make sense for the universe. Technology and abilities tend to be enhanced in this world, and this could help Dex to be a more prominent villain in the MCU, making him capable of taking on much greater heroes and threats, from Captain America to Spider-Man.

I’m Confused About Why The Punisher Has Ignored 1 Major Daredevil Villain (He Could Have Avoided A Huge MCU Tragedy)
If the Punisher had gone after one major Daredevil villain before the start of Phase 5's Born Again series, one tragic death could have been avoided.
Bullseye is a great Marvel Comics character, and it's exciting to see him being used so prominently in Daredevil: Born Again. The iteration of Dex that appeared in the Netflix series was compelling, but it is even more exciting to now see Dex becoming much closer to the Bullseye character that originated in Marvel Comics. Whether or not Bullseye has powers in the franchise, it is clear that his abilities have become bigger and more versatile, helping to make him a better threat within Daredevil: Born Again.
