Warning! This article contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again episodes 1 to 3.
Daredevil: Born Again has brought Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but now it needs to address where the rest of the Netflix Marvel show characters are. The Netflix Marvel TV shows were widely praised for their gritty, grounded, and action-packed stories. While Matt Murdock got the ball rolling in 2015 with Daredevil, it wasn't long before he was teaming up with other street-level heroes across New York City.
And now, a decade after these stories began, Charlie Cox returns to the role of Murdock, alongside the incredible Vincent D'Onofrio playing his rival, the Kingpin. And in just the first few episodes, the show is already digging in to a narrative that is forcing the vigilante heroes to step into the light. This makes it almost a certainty that characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the Iron Fist successor to Danny Rand, Colleen Wing, will need to have their whereabouts addressed in future episodes of Daredevil: Born Again.
Daredevil: Born Again's Opening Story Brings New York's Vigilantes Into The Spotlight
The Anti-Vigilante Plot Is Bringing The Vigilantes Out Of The Shadows
After an explosive and emotional opening scene, Daredevil: Born Again advances a year, and begins by showing the audience where characters like Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk are and what they have been up to. Matt has built a large law firm with a new partner, while Wilson Fisk has returned to New York, ready to step into a position of power as the mayor. With anti-vigilante sentiment at an all-time high, Fisk has built a platform on restoring peace and normalcy to the city through the rule of law, and cracking down on vigilante justice.

5 MCU Heroes Whose Superhero Identities Were Revealed By Someone Else
Some of the MCU's more secretive superheroes fly in the face of MCU convention by wearing masks, though these heroes were unwittingly exposed.
He mentions several vigilantes, such as Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Punisher, in his speech about ridding the city of these violent masked vigilantes who keep their identities hidden from the world, and thus avoid ability for their actions. But they are not the only vigilantes that have been operating in New York. And since Fisk has widened his focus from just Hell's Kitchen, it appears inevitable that other vigilantes like those featured in The Defenders will need to be addressed.
Having A Storyline About New York's Vigilantes Without Bringing Them Back Would Be Hard To Pull Off
The Defenders Can't Keep Out Of The Spotlight Forever
Making vigilantes a major focus in Born Again, and the primary platform that Fisk ran his campaign on means the show will need to highlight more of these heroes. Over the course of the first three episodes, the show has looked more closely at a new vigilante hero, the White Tiger, and there has been a lot of setup which indicates that the Punisher will soon be returning, which has been confirmed by the creatives and Jon Bernthal himself. However, these are just a few of the vigilantes that have built this culture in New York over the last decade or so.
As much as the Avengers operate as heroes without masks, and they have saved the world, earning them the respect and iration of many people, vigilantes, particularly those who wear masks and hoods, are decidedly less heroic than ordinary people. And it's interesting, because some of the other Defenders do operate without masks, like Jessica Jones, but they still go against the law with their actions, and take justice into their own hands. Surely, all of these individuals would be targets for Fisk's anti-vigilante sentiments.
Daredevil: Born Again's Multiple Seasons Mean We Might Not See The Defenders For Some Time Even if They Are Returning
There Are A Lot More Stories To Tell In Future Seasons Of Daredevil
However, it does seem highly likely that the show will slowly introduce some of these other characters, as it has already been announced to have at least another season, and Marvel Executives have discussed how this is one show among the lineup of Marvel Studios TV shows that they intend to release seasons of regularly. There is still plenty of time for this anti-vigilante story to play out, and several seasons that could expand on other characters who worked closely with Matt Murdock in the Netflix Daredevil show.

How Daredevil: Born Again Changed White Tiger's Powers From The Comics
Daredevil: Born Again introduces the White Tiger to the MCU, but the version of the character presented in the Disney+ show has been altered.
This also means that The Defenders have more time for a less direct story. Meaning that if these other heroes decided to retire, like Murdock, or to go underground, they could still remain out of the spotlight for some time. However, it seems very likely that Fisk, who is not known for letting grudges expire, will have a vendetta against these prominent vigilantes, and seek to make examples out of them. Fisk is not a wholly decent and repentant criminal, and in future episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, it appears to be a near certainty that he will seek out characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Colleen Winger.
