One major Marvel Netflix actor is officially returning to the the MCU timeline, fans have made their voices heard about how they want to see Marvel Studios revisit The Defenders characters, especially following the launch of Daredevil: Born Again. As season 2 of the Disney+ show is currently filming, new details are finally emerging about the next season that should have many MCU fans very excited.
Variety reports that Krysten Ritter, who starred as Jessica Jones in three seasons of her own titular series and starred in The Defenders on Netflix, is confirmed to be reprising the role in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. The last time fans saw Ritter's character in the MCU was in Jessica Jones season 3, which was released on Netflix on June 14, 2019. While a specific date has yet to be announced, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is set to premiere in March 2026. Ritter gave the following statement at the Disney Upfronts about her return to the MCU:
It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now ing the MCU. I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!
What Krysten Ritter Returning As Jessica Jones In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Means
A New Era For The Defenders Hits The MCU
Once Marvel Studios formally laid out how the Netflix shows fit into the official MCU timeline, it was only a matter of time before this type of announcement came out for Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Ritter's return as Jessica is also not too shocking, given how Matt confirmed at the end of Daredevil: Born Again episode 9 that he is building an army, and someone like her would be incredibly useful in the coming war against Mayor Fisk. With Ritter's official return, this also properly shows that Marvel Studios is looking to embrace more of the original Marvel TV era for the future of the MCU.
With Jessica now brought into the fold, it raises the question of whether more Marvel-Netflix heroes will appear in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 with their original actor portraying them once again. Given how Cox teased that there would be MCU crossovers in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, it wouldn't come as a surprise if Mike Colter's Luke Cage or Finn Jones' Iron Fist could be announced next. However, until then, time will tell who else will be ing Ritter in Daredevil: Born Again season 2.

Ritter's Jessica Jones Return Will Be A Phase 6 Highlight
With Marvel Studios finally finding a place for Ritter's Jessica in the MCU again, it will be exciting to see her working with Cox's Daredevil once more, especially given how long it has been since they shared the screen in The Defenders season 1. If more characters from the other Marvel-Netflix shows get announced to be part of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, the next season will be incredibly rewarding for viewers who have followed these players since 2015. Hopefully, as Daredevil: Born Again season 2 filming gets further in, there will be more updates about what other familiar faces may be popping up.
