Warning! Spoilers for Devil's Reign: Omega #1 by Marvel Comics
Marvel Comics is teasing a brutal showdown between Punisher, as both characters' new missions are sending them on a collision course that could be deadly. In Devil's Reign: Omega #1 by Marvel Comics, Daredevil reveals his and Elektra's focus now Kingpin has been stopped is on destroying the Hand once and for all. That goal will put them directly on a path with Punisher, who's recently become the Fist of the Beast for the Hand, setting up a potential conflict between the usual allies.
The Devil's Reign event is over, with Kingpin's reign being toppled as Daredevil begins anew following the death of Matt Murdock. While Matt isn't actually dead in the comics, Daredevil is using his twin brother Michael's death as the chance to focus on crimefighting as the public believes Matt is the one who died. Meanwhile, Punisher is currently undergoing his own transformation, as the antihero is working alongside the Hand, becoming the Fist of the Beast, becoming a demonic killer in exchange for his wife's resurrection.
In Devil's Reign Omega #1 by Chip Zdarsky, Rafael De Latorre, Federico Blee, and VC's Clayton Cowles, Marvel's two Daredevils reveal their plans now the world believes Matt Murdock is dead. They share that they are going to destroy the Hand, as the evil organization is "making moves" to gain control of the world. Elektra adds that taking down the Hand is bigger than anything involving crime in Hell's Kitchen. While the heroes don't know it, their quest to take down the Hand likely will take them into a new fight against the Punisher.
The Punisher has become the Hand's Fist of the Beast, gaining powers as the organization's biggest weapon and killer. Frank Castle will likely become more corrupted by the Beast the longer he serves the role, but the antihero doesn't seem to care, with the Hand resurrecting his wife for his service. But, with the Daredevils now making it their mission to destroy the Hand, a deadly encounter between Punisher and the horned heroes seems inevitable.
Taking down the Hand was always going to be difficult for the Daredevils, even with Matt Murdock putting his singular focus on taking down the organization after faking his own death. But, with the Punisher serving as the Hand's Fist of the Beast, the Daredevils are in for more of an intense battle than they ever could ever know, as he represents a significant obstacle in their way. Regardless, Daredevils vs. Punisher seems to be coming as it will put a new spin on the iconic Marvel Comics character's greatest fights. Devil's Reign: Omega #1 by Marvel Comics is in stores now.
