Daredevil and Kingpin are now firmly part of the MCU, and the best step for the two arch-rivals to take next is to face each other in a Daredevil movie. To general audiences, the two are still most familiar from the Daredevil TV series, but to readers of the comics, they’re among Marvel’s best-known characters. Since Netflix's Marvel series were added to Disney+, reports of a planned Daredevil reboot began spreading, reviving hope for Daredevil season 4.
Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, is one of the most powerful and dangerous crime lords in Marvel Comics, usually shown as the overlord of all crime in New York. While he may be best known as the arch-rival of Hawkeye.
Matt Murdock’s appearance in don’t really believe that Kingpin is dead, not just because it would be a waste of his character but also because he’s arguably survived worse in the comics. With the future of the Avengers seemingly in doubt, a crime lord like Kingpin would see business opportunities, and whatever Kingpin tries, Daredevil will be there to stop him. While Daredevil season 4 is still plausible, with the MCU growing ever more expansive, the pair deserve a place in the cinema, where other characters like Spider-Man could get involved. What's more, a team-up movie would make for a much sharper and more focused story for Kingpin's MCU future.
As such a well-connected villain, Kingpin could make an interesting antagonist in a Daredevil movie now that the MCU is well developed. With team-ups and cameos being more common, there’s a lot of potential for other heroes to appear in a Daredevil movie too. An obvious choice is Spider-Man, who's teamed up with Daredevil in comics often enough that the two are well-established allies. While the events of No Way Home would mean that the MCU’s Matt Murdock will no longer Peter Parker, Peter would certainly him. Tom Holland has certainly been enthusiastic in interviews about the idea of a Daredevil/Spider-Man team-up. Meanwhile, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox has been similarly hopeful about Daredevil's MCU future. With the ongoing popularity of the two characters, there's a good chance these hopes may become a reality.
Of course, as well as Spider-Man, Echo would also make a good choice to appear in a Daredevil movie, particularly if Kingpin survived his confrontation with her. MCU movies have shown that they can make superhero team-up stories work well on-screen, and this trend is likely to continue. With or without Echo and Spider-Man making appearances, the best way to elevate Kingpin’s villain status in the MCU's future is in a Daredevil movie, not season 4.
