After seven long months the Dark Souls Trilogy's Multiplayer Tags Removed On SteamA Twitter post from Dark Souls has announced that Dark Souls 3 multiplayer features have finally been reactivated on PC. FromSoftware confirms that Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 online features are also being repaired, though the trilogy's first two installments aren't ready yet. This means that PC players can once again enjoy Dark Souls 3 in all its soulslike glory, with summons and invasions being added back into the experience. PC servers went down a staggering seven months ago, so hopefully the other Dark Souls titles will follow soon.

While the developer's latest release shares a lot in common with Dark Souls, server security measures in Elden Ring ensured the safety of the game's PC multiplayer. The open-world fantasy epic features online components nearly identical to the Dark Souls trilogy, with players summoning others for help or invading them for PvP combat. FromSoftware assured fans that the exploit that took down the Dark Souls PC servers would not be effective in Elden Ring, but the title's launch probably delayed the Dark Souls server restoration.

Dark Souls 3 is an amazing action RPG in single-player, but the title's multiplayer components make the game truly shine. As the newest entry in the Dark Souls trilogy, it makes sense for FromSoftware to focus its efforts on restoring the Dark Souls 3 PC servers first. However, fans of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 should also have multiplayer reactivated in the near future.

Dark Souls 3 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
