Is Marvel's Wolverine game ever coming out?
Marvel's Wolverine was revealed by Insomniac Games all the way back in September 2021. Due to the major hack that the company faced and all the details from the game that leaked, including footage, concept art, character reveals, and more, we haven't had any solid information on the game in quite some time. At the moment, I'm having a hard time believing Marvel's Wolverine will ever come out, especially with other superhero games like Monolith's Wonder Woman and Cliffhanger Games' Black Panther getting scrapped. It's just not looking great for now.
Will Dakota Johnson end up with Chris Evans or Pedro Pascal in Materialists?
I think Celine Song's Materialists looks fantastic, and it will be interesting to see whether the film takes a more cliché route or subverts expectations. From what we have seen in the trailer, Chris Evan, as the past flame, looks like the charismatic character the audience will rot for. I believe Dakotan Johnson's character will end up with him, and I liked their chemistry so far. That said, Pedro Pascal's rich, successful character seems like the better catch overall, making things interesting.
Are you still upset about Henry Cavill's The Witcher recast?
Henry Cavill played Geralt of Rivia in the first three seasons of the Netflix series The Witcher, but is being replaced by Liam Hemsworth for the fourth. Cavill left the series due to creative differences, and likely a little bit due to the response from audiences, but it is still upsetting to see. I am sure that Hemsworth will do a great job, but he has big shoes to fill. Despite the issues with the series, for me, Cavill was always a consistent positive thing about it. Perhaps season 4 will change my mind, but for now, everytime I think about this recast I get upset.
Is the DCU Superman movie's reported budget accurate?
The Hollywood Reporter claims that documents showed a reported budget of $363.8 million for Superman, though DC suggests the budget is at $225 million after tax and incentives breaks. While I understand that the DCU needs its first movie to be successful, I have a difficult time believing Superman would have a hefty budget in the 300s or 400s. Instead, a price tag in the $200 million range — without marketing — sounds more like it, which still requires the movie to put in the work to be profitable.
Do James Gunn's major Superman movie sequel comments mean a superhero team-up is on the way?
James Gunn has revealed that his next DCU movie will be a Superman sequel. However, it seems like the director is not working on a straightforward Superman 2. Gunn said, "...is it a straight-up Superman sequel? I would not say necessarily." Based on his words, I think Gunn is writing a movie that sees David Corenswet's Superman team up with another DCU hero following the events of his debut film. That could end up being a World's Finest movie with Batman, a Superman/Wonder Woman team-up, or perhaps even a full-on Justice League movie for the DCU.
DC has announced a new Wonder Woman movie - When could it debut?
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, James Gunn revealed that a new Wonder Woman movie is being written at DC Studios. The director did not share when it could debut or when casting might happen. That said, Gunn previously teased on Threads that Wonder Woman would appear in the DCU before the first three years of the franchise ended. If a Wonder Woman movie is in the writing stage, I believe Gunn's timeframe for the franchise could lead to Wonder Woman's new movie being filmed in 2026 for a 2027 release. That said, based on the DCU's delays, 2028 also looks possible.
